[The End 10/13] Crumbling Down
[L] || His plan had three stages. Stage one had already been completed, and Chava was dead. Now, nearly a year since Chava's death, Lucedio was ready to enact stage two. He apparated over towards Damien's manor with nothing but the clothes on his back. There was going to be no fight today. Perhaps no death either, unless one of their Damien's kids died. He chuckled darkly, before waving his hands about, and a wide fan of flames jettisoned towards the house, and began eating away at the manor. This was not normal fire, it would not be easily put out by someone with very little magical talent, this was fiendfyre. It would continue burning until there was nothing left of the Manor.
|| Perhaps months had passed, perhaps a year, Damien couldn't really tell. It was all fuddled in his mind. He knew the twins were getting bigger now, and would probably start learning to speak soon, if that was when children learned to speak. At least properly, and not just a bunch of random words. Weylin, on the other hand, was around the same size as the twins when Chava died. Chava. He never really forgot her, never allowed himself to. He could still remember clearly like it was yesterday the day he carved that message into his own skin. He pushed up his sleeve for the third time that day, looking at the message that he carved in three times now. Remember Chava. Where once he could think perfectly clearly, now a haze hovered over his mind, and the only things he could focus on were the ticking inside his mind and the message on his arm. The only times he could think clearly were when he was near the children. If only because his subconscious wouldn't let him poison them with his insanity. Today, the ticking had been louder than ever, but he'd gotten used to it. He almost enjoyed the constant ticking, it was the only company he had left anymore, minus the children. And while he was curled up in his Throne staring off at the wall across from him, which also had a carved message in it though a far darker one: Kill Me, he started to smell something burning. He didn't have anything cooking, so it couldn't quite be that. "Not cooking..." He spoke to himself, before looking over towards the window, seeing flames jumping up behind the glass. At first he started thinking about perhaps he wouldn't mind dying by flame. Then his mind turned upstairs where the kids were. They wouldn't be safe if he burned in a fire. They'd probably die choking on smoke while he was burning alive. He rushed upstairs as fast as he could, pushing his way into the kids room. "Daddy!" Orianna called up towards him. He wasn't sure how he was going to carry them all and get out of there. He could hold one child in each arm, but what then? He had an idea, and he picked up weylin, who was the smallest, before stuffing him between his robes and his shirt, making sure his upper torso and head was poking out, before picking up Orianna and Aurora in each arm. He turned around, before running out and down the stairs. The fire had already gotten inside the manor, and had already been eating up at his living room. He could tell right away this wasn't a normal fire. "Fire!" Aurora spoke and Damien shook his head. "Fire bad, stay away from Fire." At least this fire and normal fire. He wouldn't mind seeing his old friend again, if only to say goodbye. He rushed around the flames, before making a beeline to the door. He lifted his leg, before kicking the door open. Of course, there were flames outside his door too. Keeping the children above the flames so they wouldn't be touched, he charged through and to the other side. His clothes were singed, and his legs were burned, but he couldn't let himself fall now. He had to keep standing. He turned around, taking one last look at the burning house he'd lived in for so long, before running away. He had to find a new place, and preferably put it under a Fidelius charm to protect the kids.
