[Something New 2/3]Conflict

|| It had been a day since Damien last thought of the situation revolving around Chava. It had seemed to him that he had made little to no progress on the matter. She had given an interesting fact that he just didn't know the answer to. For him, there was no real difference between not minding and enjoyment, but he now, thanks to her, had some semblance of what separated the two. That was why he was here, in this very alley. It was one of the few places he could truly think. The day had fallen, and there were very few people nearby giving him that quiet area he sought. He leaned against a wall, his hand tapping against his leg. Which way did he truly lean in this matter? Did he not care, or did he want? He heaved a sigh, lost in his thoughts, unaware of the watchful eyes behind. "Without your posse?" A voice called from behind him, and Damien imagines the sneer that he knew the owner must have. "You always were pathetic." Damien's hand instantly snapped to his dagger, as he spun around, "Says the one who always needs outside help when he gets trapped." He pushes himself off of the wall, a scowl taking up his expression. "What do you want?" He paced back and forth as Lucedio reached for his wand. "What I always want," He pulls out his wand, thrusting it in Damien's direction, casting a silent spell, "Your death."

|| The night had been a quiet one, a rather lonely one, and Chava was left to her own thoughts and devices. The one thing she couldn't stand was being holed up in her home with only her thoughts to occupy her. That tended to make her feel as if she were drowning, unable to keep her head above the water. A glance out the window made her long for some fresh air and a nice walk, so that's exactly what she went out for, her feet seemingly carrying her to the alley she so loved to wander, when she could. When she was protected. And she was her knife and wand safely tucked away in her cloak. As she walked, her mind drifted, and she found herself wondering about Damien. A curious topic that was, one where even she was unsure how she felt. Her behavior the last time she had seen the man was rather reckless, and if Damien found himself running for the hills from her, she'd only have herself to blame. But of course, there was no use wondering. The man would do as he wanted, and when he came to a decision she would find out in due course. Her mind is yanked back into reality very at the sound of voices, just round the corner. It wasn't anything unusual, to hear men shouting at each other in this alley, but in her bored state, Chava wanted to watch. The grin on her face starts to fade, however, when her eyes focus on one of the two faces. "Damien?"

|| Two pairs of eyes snap in the direction of the speaker. "Who's this? Another of your friends, here for you to hide behind?" Damien growled at the question, his hand slipping into his sleeve, grabbing three small knives from their holsters and flinging them at Lucedio. "Chava, this is my dear, sweet brother Lucedio," he says mockingly, as he sidesteps the earlier cast spell. "Bane-of-my-existence, this is Chava." He brings one foot behind the other, his dagger moving up into a defensive position, keeping himself ready to move if needed. Lucedio gives a smirk as he turns keeps his gaze on the woman, his wand still trained at Damien. "Some pathetic fool you care about, perhaps?" He sneers, turning his wand towards the woman, "Perhaps someone who you would feel pain at dying?"

Chava furrows her brows, her hands immediately slipping into her cloak to grab her wand in one and her dagger in the other, inching closer to Damien. She stares down the man he calls his brother, her eyes alight with distrust, anger. She knew this wouldn't be good. She stares pointedly at the wand he now pointed at her, a growl escaping her throat at Lucedio's words. She had tons of combat training from Blake herself, not to mention multiple fights with the greatly known Decoy, so she really felt no need to be afraid of this man. What more could he do? She sincerely hoped he was underestimating her. "Dying?" she quirks a brow, very grateful that that night the air had cleared her thoughts, leaving her as sane and stable as she could get. "Kill me just because of Damien?" The woman couldn't help but laugh. "Looks like your brother has something of an obsession, Dami," she scowls, wand held high and blade held over her torso. "Simply said, you can't kill me. Or anyone here." She offers a broad, taunting smile, almost hoping to make Lucedio very angry. People were always so much more clumsy when angry enough.

| Damien glanced over at Chava, noticing the wand and dagger. He moved his hand out of sight of Lucedio, and held up a finger, before pointing at the ground, as if saying stay back. With his inability in wand-work, it'd be best if she focused on magic while he focused on being up close. "Maybe so." He says inching his way forward, "But you won't harm her, nor will you harm anyone again. I'm done running." Lucedio barks out in laughter at both of them. "You say that, but you'll be running again after this encounter." he grinned widely at the two of them. He loved this game, and he was used to it. Without fail, Damien would always run away. And one day, he will find Damien while he's running and kill him. "You may have me outnumbered, but you will still lose." He cast two spells in quick succession, a knock-back jinx at Chava, and a cutting curse at Damien. With these spells cast, he jabs his wand downwards, melding into shadow, before reappearing several feet behind them. "But I would love to see you try and stop me."

Chava had been very grateful for her training in this moment, and her reflexes that had become much faster after the darker aspects of her life with Blake. She had learned to be prepared for anything, and to be, as Blake said, "a force to be reckoned with." Even when mentally unstable. It only made it better that her mind was clear and free of distraction. And the care she felt in her heart was always enough to keep her moving, however slight it might be then. She anticipated the spells the moment Lucedio raised his wand, and Chava cast a shield charm over Damien before it hit, covering herself as well by slipping behind him. She winces a little, turning around to face the man again as he moved. Well wasn't this familiar? That was the sort of trick Decoy used to play all the time. And sure, that encounter resulted in Chava's death, but only for so long. It was all fun and games. A brow quirks at the thought of running. Damien, running? Somehow she found that hard to believe. And an urge in her just wanted to kill his brother so neither would have to worry again. The woman would do it gladly. But, still, she would take this opportunity as proof. Damien didn't need the help, but she fully believed he would be better off with it. "I'm sure only one will be harmed tonight," she mumbles, pointing her wand out again. With their positions now reversed, she found herself in front of Damien, crouching in front of him and shooting a green light at his brother. Why not aim to kill right away, huh? It ought to knock him off his feet.

|| Another downward jab and Lucedio disappeared into the shadows. "I will never run again!" Damien shouted. He knew Lucedio was still around. He wouldn't stop hunting Damien unless there was a reason for him to stop. Lucedio appeared behind Damien, casting another silent cutting curse. Damien staggered forward, his dagger falling from his hands, before spinning around. Rage was evident in Damien's eyes, his fist clenching, teeth almost gritting. Suddenly without any warning, Lucedio screamed out in pain, his fingers scratching at his head. "What the hell Is this?" Instantly Lucedio melded into the shadows, in a rush to escape the pain that he must have felt. Damien waited. Soon five minutes passed, and Damien spoke. "He isn't coming back." His eyes were widened, and he was hoping Chava didn't ask him about what just happened, for he didn't know the answers.

Chava had kept her wand out the whole time, but lowered it as Lucedio faded away, her eyes wide with shock and confusion. The whole experience was rather confusing and happened too quickly, and she had so many unanswered questions of which she was afraid to know the answer. She stayed silent for a long while, wanting to make absolutely sure Lucedio was gone, before stowing her blade and wand away back in her cloak. Her gaze shifts to Damien, her eyes full of concern. He had appeared to have been hurt, by his brother, and she padded over to his side, holding a gentle hand out to the man. "Are you alright? What happened?" she whispers.

| Damien reaches into his robes pulling out a vial of a reddish liquid. He always carried healing potions ever since he started training his friends about a decade ago. Uncorking the bottle he drinks the contents within. "I'll be fine in about a few minutes." At her second question, he gave a shrug. "I don't know." He shook his head slightly before saying, "But I will learn from this." He turned his gaze towards Chava, his gray eyes trained on her, "But more importantly, I know my answer." He waits a few seconds letting her wonder what his answer was, before kissing her cheek. "You'll find out tomorrow though. I want to make absolutely sure." With that, he headed off down the alleyway, giving a slight wave as he walked.
