[Something New 1/3]Conflicted Thoughts

 || The quiet walls of the Dagger Manor irked him. He silently longed for screaming, for victims to be in the basement so he could have a bit of fun, instead of thinking. He rested his elbow on the armrest of his throne. It appeared he now had two things he needed to think of. He casts his eyes towards the stairs that led up to the second floor, lost in thought. Just yesterday, he'd been hassled by a bitch of a woman about Housing his sister. In most cases, he would have just tortured and killed the bitch, but that would have drawn unwanted attention to himself. Also, several days ago, he'd had two conversations with Chava that had caused a need for thinking. He couldn't quite remember the fine details of the conversation, his memory was fickle like that, but he did remember what the conversation was about. The first conversation, however, was the one he was mostly focusing on. He turns his gaze opposite of his throne to a grotesque painting of various depictions of torture. Of course, he wasn't so much looking at it, more so he was staring blankly in that direction. He remembered their conversation about solitude, and how he was best with people there helping him. But his mind instantly thought back to the girl he used to know back in his first year. At that moment he had someone beside him, and Lucedio came along, killing the girl. And he was the one blamed for it. "No... Solitude is the only thing I need." He muttered to himself. He stood up from his throne, making his way to the kitchen. He retrieved a heart from a cupboard and started biting into it. The action made him think of his Second wife. Sure, Hannah had always preferred Lucedio, and she by no means hid that, but she still helped him more times than he could count. "No," he told himself, "I ran away. That's what I do best. Solitude is best for me." Except, he knew this wasn't true. There was a time when even he was happy. Wasn't alone. And this was how his thoughts turned to his first wife. He had known from the beginning that she might disappear, and she had and was surprised that their relationship lasted as long as it did. And it was this line of thinking that brought Damien to a conclusion. Companionship was fine with the right people. His friend Fire and his Ex-wife had shown that to him, yet still, he kept running. Perhaps it was time to turn around. Time to stop running. But he would still need to think of the second conversation at some point. Not today, but some point.
