[Intermediate 2/3] Casualties of War

|| Most of the past couple months were spent healing whatever wounds weren't already healed, and planning for the future. Today, Damien was ready to get back out to training, though he didn't want Chava trying to train alongside him. Would she even want to in her state? Probably not. Every since he learned that Chava was having twins, Damien started paying more attention to Chava. Where one would have been difficult, he imagined two to be more of a strain. The night was still young, and he wanted to set out before the cool sunk in, so he wandered about the house to find her. “Chava!” he called out. “I'm heading out to train.”

|| Needless to say carrying two god damn kids was really just becoming more of a nightmare. Aveline had been no where near this bad, and most of the time all Chava had the energy to do was lie in bed, or practice magic or play around with any possible victims in the basement on her better days. Despite her best efforts to keep herself in good spirits, she mostly felt useless. Like she was slowly just becoming more of a drain on Damien the weaker she got, and the less she was able to move. The good part was that most of the sickness had gone away. She wasn't heaving every other hour, but sometimes felt too weak to move. Or her breathing was harder to manage. But these were things she had to fix, and she was anxious to fix. She couldn't drag Damien down with her. So when he told her he was heading out to train, she instantly insisted on coming with. “Can I, too?” she pleads. It was so rare that she got to leave the house. “If you really don't want me to train I can just… watch.”

|| At first Damien was adamant in saying no, that she couldn't join, nor could she train, especially not in her state, but she always broke that stubbornness from him. He heaved a sigh before giving a slight nod. She could join him, but he would make sure she didn't exert herself or try to train. “Fine, but no training.” He stared at her for a few seconds, as if challenging her to say a word otherwise. “We’ll walk there. Don't want you getting sick apparating.” The walk to his usual training spot was uneventful, and as soon as they arrived, Damien wordlessly summoned a training dummy as well as a chair for Chava to sit in so she could watch, before setting to work.

|| Thank god he had agreed. For a while there, Chava was certain he wouldn't, and she didn't want to sit at home bored for much longer. She was getting antsy. And most of the time, for Chava, getting antsy meant she might have soon snuck out and caused herself trouble again. So she was certainly glad Damien agreed. The walk was a short one, but it still tired her, and she sat down on the chair while trying to conceal just how tired it had made her. She found herself doing this a lot, pretending she was okay in front of him- just so he didn't worry as much as he might have, had she told him more. At least she got to watch. Perhaps she would learn her own skills in just watching. He was quite a sight to see while training, anyhow.

[L] || Very little had happened since the massive free-for-all that had taken place four months ago, and Lucedio was irritated. Not only did Aeron dare to mess up the job he'd given the younger man, he’d failed to keep Chava distracted. Chava especially earned his ire. She had already had him pissed off enough to want to kill her first, but now he would make her suffer before her death. For the second time, she had managed to force him to retreat while he was winning. If it wasn't for that damned ring, he would have killed both her and Damien that day. All of his plans went out the window, and now Lucedio had to figure another way to go forward. "I will kill you, you fucking bitch," he snarled to himself at the thought. No doubt the two of them had healed by now, and were forming their own plans, but he couldn't be sure of what they were planning, with Aeron's failure. So he decided to leave the safety of his home, on a day when he had finally healed from whatever that ring did, and seek out his pathetic brother's haunting grounds. It was a long shot, he figured he'd never find them there, however there they were. Damien was training training away, while Chava watched on. He whipped his wand towards the broken wall that led into the basement, and repaired it, making sure there was only one exit for them. Through him. With that, he walked through the shop, and down into the basement, entering the room, only enough so he was no longer standing on the stairs.

[D] || Strike, strike, block, roll. Repeat. With each swing of a blade, with each motion, Damien found himself getting lost in instinct. It was how he preferred training. Thinking was good in combat, but you also needed to be able to strike, or block without thinking. It needed to be instinctual. So he allowed himself to be lost in the motions, risking himself to the cloud of insanity within his mind. The 'cloud' had lessened recently, yet still it remained. He had gotten so lost in the motions, that he almost missed the wall repairing itself. His form tensed up, and his eyes started examining the room closely, before resting on Lucedio's form walking down the stairs. Already lost in his training and insanity, he rushed forward, driving his blade up towards Lucedio's ribs. At a flick of his twin's wand, Damien stumbled back slightly, breaking out of the haze he was in. "Just leave."

|| Even though she wasn't doing much besides simply watching Damien train, it was much more exciting than sitting at home without him and suffering through a pregnancy alone. But the relaxation switched to something more of concern when Damien rushed in a different direction. She suddenly spun around, her eyes widening on the sight before her. Was this some kind of brain trick or something? Because there seemed no way Lucedio could suddenly be here in Damien's training room after months of not seeing him. But Damien seemed to be taking any measure to get him out, so he must really be there. "Shit," she hisses, and she knew she was in no real position for a fight. She was weaker than usual. Still she stands, eyes narrowing on Lucedio as she moves closer, wand out and trained on him. She wouldn't allow him to touch Damien. Not again. "Get the fuck out," she snarls. "Before we beat your ass again."

[L] || When Damien charged him, Lucedio flicked his wrist, casting a knock-back jinx to make sure he had the upper hand in this situation. "Why should I leave when I have the advantage?" A flick of his wand and a couple flame spells shot towards them, mainly to keep them on the defensive "Did I interrupt your pathetic training session?" he smirked at them, his wand at the ready. "If you need to train to beat me, you have no hope." His gaze turned towards Chava, backing out in laughter at the insinuation that they could beat him. He had them both severely injured, with only minor injuries to his person "It took a ring for you to beat me. And, unless you have another ring, I doubt you'll make it out of this building alive."

[D] || While it was great to see Chava backing him up, at this point, he was more worried about the trouble she could get into in her state, though he wouldn't draw attention to that right now. While it was quite obvious, Lucedio hadn't noticed quite yet, and he preferred to keep it that way as long as he could. "I figure you should know what my training looks like, given how often you show up during them. Looking to see how it's done?" He stepped to the side, avoiding the spell thrown his way, before reaching into his sleeve drawing out two small knives. "Wrong. There's always hope." He didn't quite believe what he was saying, but he had to hope there was always hope. For Chava's sake. For the twins sake. He flicked his wrist, the knives flying from between his fingers towards Lucedio's abdomen. He grimaced as Lucedio kept speaking. The ring. In the past few months he had completely forgotten about it. The last remains to his past had finally been quashed, though he felt like it was a good thing. Perhaps he could let go of the pain of his past after Lucedio was dealt with. Maybe if there was nothing left to remind him, he'd forget. Either way, that ring certainly wasn't an option today. Even if it hadn't been destroyed, it would have been too dangerous to use in this scenario.

|| She had almost expected Lucedio to make some bound for her, just looking at her. This was what she had feared all along- this was part of the reason she agreed to stay inside the house and away from Lucedio as much as she could when the pregnancy took full effect. So he wouldn't see how weak she was and then take advantage of that. Just because she couldn't fight against him as well as she once could. She had beat him herself at least twice before, would she ever be able to do so again? He was currently too wrapped up in Damien to hardly notice she was there. Perhaps she could use this to her own advantage. So she didn't say anything at first, instead trying to inch around more behind Lucedio without being noticed. Or at least to his side, so she could get a good strike in. If there was one thing she could still do, it was magic. Once she could properly get to the opposite side of Lucedio from Damien, her wand points directly at him, before she mutters the Cruciatus curse. "I once beat you with nothing but my rage and my magic. I can certainly do it again," she snarls then.

[L] ||He flicked his wand again, casting a couple stunners to knock the knives from their flight. He wasn't going to move from his position and give them room to escape. They could apparate out, however Lucedio was hoping they wouldn't, or that they would overlook that little detail. "I won't lower myself to your muggle methods again." It was disgusting enough torturing Damien with a dagger, despite the slight gleam of satisfaction he got from the act, though he would deny that vehemently. Defending oneself with fists or kicks was one thing. Actually using weapons muggles created? That was an entirely different scenario. A flash of light alerted him to an oncoming spell, and instantly a shield charm flicked up blocking it. His eyes flickered around the direction the spell came from, before finally resting on the form of Chava. The very different form. "You've been busy, /brother/" His last word came out as a half snarl, half laugh. Chava was most certainly the weak link now. Laying his plan of blocking their exit to rest, he took a couple steps towards Chava. "How often do you get a two in one kill?"

|| As Lucedio knocked the blades aside with his spells, Damien drew out his last two knives, hoping to use them while his back was turned or even just as a distraction. He scowled slightly at the reminder of being tortured. He hoped to return the favor someday, though he doubted that would ever happen, given how tough and resilient Lucedio was. He could only hope. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Chava casting a spell at Lucedio, "Don't!" Of course by the time he spoke, it was too late. She had drawn his attention to her, despite that being the exact opposite of what he wanted. His gaze glanced over towards the stairway as Lucedio moved away from it. There was an escape path now, but with Chava in her state, and where she was, it still wasn't an they would have to get Lucedio to go elsewhere, which was easier said than done. Their best bet was to harm Lucedio enough for him to flee. He walked over towards Chava and Lucedio before standing between them. "You aren't touching her." He growled out, his knuckles turning white as he tightly gripped his knives. "You even try, and I will kill you." He didn't quite believe his own words with how often Lucedio had completely trounced then, but he had to hope it was enough to give Lucedio pause. Pause enough for him to strike.

|| And this was exactly what she had been fearing for months now. This was the thing even Aeron had taken care to hide from Lucedio, because even he understood the severity of the consequences. But what more did she expect? This was never something she could have hid from Lucedio forever. Even post pregnancy she couldn't hide two physical children for the rest of their lives, no matter how hard they tried. So she couldn't deny she was terrified. And there was nothing much she could do either. She couldn't run or apparate- all she had left going for her was her wand. And would that be enough? With every step Lucedio takes closer to her, she takes another step back, as if that would sufficiently keep him away from her, when of course Damien stepped in. She grips her wand tighter in her palm, stepping farther back again and pointing the wand over Damien's shoulder at Lucedio. This was the one way she could defend herself, so she would take it. She wastes no time in throwing more curses Lucedio's direction, hoping to catch him off guard. "Damien," she murmurs, "I've got it." By that, she meant she had her wand, but in reality she didn't believe it to be enough. "Where once I might have let you kill me to protect Damien, I know the truth now." She speaks directly to Lucedio, aiming an Unforgivable directly between his eyes. The killing curse. "You don't get to touch me. Or hurt me," she snarls with feigned confidence. In reality she just wanted to keep backing up away from him.

[D] His gaze shifted from Lucedio to Chava at her words. He doubted that she even believed her words. There wasn't much she could do right now, with her pregnancy hindering her. He could hope to draw Lucedio's attention towards him, though he didn't think he could hold it long. Using Chava's spells as a distraction, he ducks under the spells just to make sure they didn't hit him, before driving one of the knives up towards Lucedio's gut, and another towards his ribs. "Don't" he says to Chava, as if asking her not to draw Lucedio's attention, though he also tried to make it sound as if he was talking to Lucedio.
[L] || It seemed pathetic how they were trying to stop him from doing anything. Even if he didn't quite have a plan for what to do, he would be able to quash any effort they mustered. He'd done it before, so why would now be any different? He flicked his wand deflecting the spells Chava had cast, casting a disarming spell in return. Pain in his stomach alerted him to Damien strikes, and he moved his empty hand to shove the other knife away. "My goal isn't to hurt you. Or at least it wasn't. You can still redeem yourself though. Turn away from him. Walk away, and I'll let you live. Think to yourself, and be honest with yourself. What has Damien done for you?" Lucedio steps back away from Damien and Chava, hoping that his words would turn the two against each other. If one harmed the other, then it would make his job easier. "He's used you for his own gain. Had you kill his parents, so he could keep his little career. He even abandoned you to Azkaban for the same reason. Does he even care about you? Or does he care more about himself?"

|| Lucedio's words gave her reason to pause, absolutely dumbfounded. How weak did he think their relationship was? Had this sort of plan worked for him before? She stares blankly at him, before coming up with a small idea. Would she be able to gain some sort of advantage if Lucedio thought she believed what he said? Or would he see right through her? She still stands, as if considering deeply what Lucedio was saying. She didn't say a word, but it angered her. Greatly. It was /stupid/ to think this would work. But she'd play along. "Azkaban..." she mumbles, and she hoped Damien would see through her. He always did, he should now, right? "He did leave me to Azkaban." She shakes her head. Playing this off was easier said than done. But maybe if she walked closer, or walked away, as he said... she could get behind him and strike from behind before he could hurt Damien. She had just barely managed to keep her wand on her, so at least she still had that. "I just have to walk away? Walk out of the training room?" She was already walking, trailing behind Lucedio in hopes of this working. This would either work, or make things so much worse for herself. If he let her keep walking, she'd cast the Cruciatus curse directly at his back.

|| Despite his instincts telling him that Chava wasn't actually leaving him, that she was planning something, he couldn't help but feel devastated. So many times had friends and loved one left him, abandoned him, that he couldn't help but feel like this was one of those times. "Don't!" This time, instead of asking her not to draw attention to herself, he was asking her not to leave. While part of him would feel better if she was safe, and knew that she was more likely moving to a different position to attack from, the other side of him, was simply lost in despair holding on to what he thought was a hopeless situation.
[L] || This was working far better than he could have possibly hope. Where Lucedio had managed this tactic once before, every other time after, Damien seemed to have more loyal friends. A smirk stretches across his lips as he looks on at Damien as if he had just won everything. Sure the woman hadn't left yet, and he'd probably hunt her down later, but his goal was within reach. Hopefully this would be the time Damien died. He flicked his wand, casting several explosive spells at Damien, followed quickly by a Crucio. "All of your work, your fighting. After everything, was it worth it? Avada Keda-augh" He fell to the ground, his eyes flaring red in anger after thrashing on the ground for a few moments. His wand flicked upwards and he cast a stunner at Chava as a distraction, before picking himself up off the ground. Turning his back towards Damien, he faced Chava, a snarl escaping his lips. "YOU DARE?!" he should have seen it coming, should have figured she wouldn't actually betray Damien. He pointed his wand towards her hand, moving his wand in a slashing motion. "Diffindo!"

|| It broke her heart, that Damien didn't see through her lie right away, but she had to do what she could to get them both out alive. And she was pleasantly surprised to see part of her plan had worked. She had hit Lucedio, but it had only lasted so long, and he was angry. She winces, taking another step back from him. "Did you really think I would just-" but she was cut off from finishing her small taunt by Lucedio's next spell- having worked probably exactly as he had wanted it to. It was something rather specific, so she didn't see it coming until it was already over, and she was collapsed onto her knees, cradling her hand to her chest. Or rather, the lack thereof her hand. As her hand gripping her wand had been cut away and detached from her body with Lucedio's spell, leaving her not just with one less hand, but without her dominant hand- her /wand/ hand. Magic was the only thing left she had going for her, and Lucedio had taken that away. It wasn't even a clean cut, and it hurt, and she screamed, unsure what to do with herself. "Don't touch him," she whimpers, curling into herself. She had to get up, she had to keep trying to fight, for Damien's sake. For the sakes of the twins. "Be happy with this and get the fuck out of our sight." She glances back over at Damien, who could have very well been killed only a few moments ago. She reaches her uninjured hand out to him, before dragging herself closer. She had to strengthen the fuck up.

|| He had been told to work undercover, that there were suspected Death Eaters hiding out in the once single notorious alley. At first, he was in disbelief. How could he possibly keep an ear out for one, or even a group, of people hiding out, plotting and planning? He would have to ask around, acting like a clueless Death Eater himself. What a hit to his pride. This night he was hopeful. He had heard the echoes of a scream - perhaps a victim for information - ricochet around him, immediately jolting his legs into action. The scream has split at his ears, making the man wince. Now he stands in front of an abandoned building, wand ready. Slowly, he enters, checking in every place he could. Could his ears have been wrong? Possibly, but he could have sworn it came from this building. As the Auror turns to leave, he spots another door. One that, when opened, lead to a lower level: the basement. His brows furrow as he enters. Smart place for a meeting, and he didn't have a plan as to what to say if there /were/ Death Eaters torturing a victim. As he soon sees, he didn't need an excuse. There was a a woman curled up on the floor, clearly in pain, and two males. One seemed to be more proud of the situation than the other. This was certainly not a meeting, at least not one planned. The male finds his legs moving towards the woman, his eyes venturing to the other men. "Is everyone alright?" He attempts to ask in such a way that showed he meant no harm. He doesn't yet realize that the woman was in pain from a missing limb, or that the man looking pleased yet outraged would have been the cause, nor does he realize he probably shouldn't be there. It just wasn't within his nature, or his training, to ignore a situation as the one he was starting to sense he was in.||

|| Once upon a time, Damien might have felt a sting at those words. Once, when he doubted himself, when he feared for what happened next, he might have sunk under the pressure that question hefted upon him. Now, however? Now was a different situation. "Yes, it was worth it. It was worth fighting, even if just to live as long as I did, and befriend the people I did." He closed his eyes as Lucedio started to cast his spell, as if he was readying himself to die. Chava was about to leave, and Lucedio was preparing to kill him. Perhaps he could at least die thinking of happier days. When death never comes, he opens his eyes, only to be shocked at what he saw. Lucedio had apparently been hit with something as he was getting up, and looking angry at Chava. He started to move though he was slow. Far too slow. He watched in shock as Chava's hand fell to the ground fresh blood staining the already bloodstained floor. A voice caused him to look towards the source. He would have killed the man himself for simply interfering, though he recognized the man in some small way. He'd noticed the man around the auror offices a long time ago, and he figured where there was one, there were probably more. Of course the man could possibly be a criminal who was taken in by an auror, but he wasn't taking that chance. "Just get her out of here!" he shouted out. Chava was supposed to be dead, so he hoped that the man thought she /looked/ like Chava, rather than being Chava. With that, he spoke no more, instead growling out in anger. He grasped his dagger before bringing it out of it's sheath and charging Lucedio. He drove the blade into the man's back before ripping it out, and attempting another stab.

[L] || While he was disappointed his initial plan didn't work out quite as well as he hoped, he found satisfaction in watching the cunt's hand sever from her wrist. It served her right for thinking she could oppose him. "Perhaps now that you've been disarmed, this would be a perfect time to kill you." He brought his wand up, giving the new arrival no more than a second glance, before casting a blasting curse at the woman. He was about to strike again, when Damien's blade pierced into his back. That was twice now that he'd disregarded Damien. Twice now that he'd been bested. He twisted around, pressing the tip of his wand against Damien's chest. "Confringo."

|| The sound of another person coming only served to further scare her- she was supposed to be dead, for god's sake. And this man seemed to be some kind of Auror. He could very easily end up taking her right back to Azkaban if he realized who she was, or if anybody else said who she really was. But Damien was yelling to get her out of there, and she was having none of that. "NO!" she screams, trying to pull herself up in outrage. She shoves the Auror man in front of her to keep her from the blasting curse, before running at Lucedio. Or running as much as she could while she was pregnant, handless, and bleeding out. As she saw Lucedio move to blast Damien, she aims to barrel straight into him, hoping the curse wouldn't hit him. She'd rather be injured than allow him to be. But of course, even the simplest things lately put her in all the more pain. She screams again, gasping for a breath. Any magic she might have been able to produce wandless and from the wrong hand would just be pathetic. She tries to make eye contact with the Auror man, pointing up at Lucedio. "Kill him! Take him in, please!"

|| It had to be in his head, but he thought he recognized these people, more the woman than the males, and the darker haired male caused a shiver of faint recognition. Yet he could not place names. Perhaps it wouldn't matter. He had to help, somehow. When the darker haired male screams, the Auror notices the blood pooling around the woman and his heart stutters. "Bloody hell," He gasps, moving forth to stop the bleeding, some how. His momentum allowed for the woman to grab him, pulling him forward. This allows her to move and run after the male who seemed to be causing this disaster. The Auror only had a few seconds to conjure a shield, able to do so after the blast touched his arm and knocked him back. Luckily it wasn't his wand arm, as it now burned with fiery pain. Take the woman, who, he could swear, he should know, or take the man, who was not being blasted with the Confringo spell. Or do as the woman said and arrest the man who blasted the darker haired male. Were they siblings? He couldn't kill without cause, and the man was unsure of it was self defense - since he was just stabbed in the back - or if he had intent to kill. Either way, he shifts forth defensively, wand at the ready. "Under the order of the Ministry of Magic, you are hereby under arrest. Drop your wand and kindly surrender, or I shall have to use force." His voice was deep, nervous but prepared. He could not uselessly attack, he would be disbanded should the Ministry find out. Yet when the darker haired male was attacked, the Auror saw fit to use his magic justly, and he caused a distraction spell as well as a stunning spell towards the man who had just conjured Confringo. ||

|| For the second time in a row, one fight after another, Damien was hit with that curse... that painful curse. He could feel his lungs burning, his heart pounding, a large gaping hole where flesh used to be. He was sure he was going to die, how could he now, with all of them here, fighting for their lives. He would bleed out long before this fight was over, unless drastic measure was taken. This had to stop. If he died, oh well, but if Chava was hurt worse... He winced as he watched Chava ram into Lucedio before shouting at the man. He turned his gaze towards the man trying to keep his voice as even and as calm as possible. "As a member of the wizengamot, I can guarantee your saftey, and even a promotion if you kill that man. He has done nothing but cause pain and suffering." He hoped that would be enough to entice the man into action, but if it didn't, or if the man failed, he would take matters into his own hands, no matter how much it hurt.

|| Lucedio's eyes flashed a brighter red as Chava ran into him, interrupting the viewing of his brother's fall. He cast his wand, sending several cutting curses towards the bitch, before raising a shield at the auror's spells. He was proving himself to be a pest. And pests needed to be dealt with. Just not now. "Still have some fight left? I guess even cutting off your hand won't stop you." He wasn't even going to bother hiding his intentions from the auror. He was bound by rules and red tape, where Lucedio was not. He would be far easier to deal with that Damien. At the man's squabbling, he turned his head giving the man a hard gaze before stating simply "Stay out of it." What was heavily implied, however, was the "or else." He shifted his focus towards Damien, before sneering. "Do you think your little auror can protect you? That I can't kill him, just like I'll kill you? Pathetic," he sneered directing another cutting curse in Damien's direction.

|| Where once Lucedio was focused on her, now there was the Auror and Damien for him to pay attention to as well. Which gave her more room to strike. She hoped to God the Auror would listen to as Damien said, and kill Lucedio, but could he even do anything? The man looked pathetic, almost, and there wasn't even a trace of recognition on his face that he knew Damien or Chava, was supposed to be dead and dangerous murderer to boot. No, she had to have another plan, and Damien was injured. Horrifically so, despite her best efforts to keep the spell from him. So while Lucedio was distracted, with her left hand she pulled a dagger up, before inching behind Lucedio, trying not to make a sound. Her right arm was still cradled to her chest, trying to ignore the blood, despite the fact she was getting lightheaded. She would wait for the Auror to make his next move before she aims to plunge the dagger into Lucedio's back, up near his neck, as precisely as she could with her wrong hand. "YOU WILL NEVER KILL HIM!" she screams, ripping the dagger away to try and stab him again, and again.

|| A shock ripples throughout the Auror; that man was from the Wizengamot? Was that why he looked familiar? Cursing at himself for not caring more about the work place and the people that presided there. His spells were useless, shielded, but he now had purpose and reason to break from his natural laws and use the needed force. The wizard was injured, horribly so. How was he still alive? Breathing? The Wizengamot official should have been dead. His blood was starting to match the amount the woman was leaking. He had to do something, he had to help somehow! His mind races between spells before deciding on running forth and casting a protective shield before the injured wizard, so the cutting curse wouldn't be what killed him. If the Auror could save that wizard and kill the man he was told to kill, he would be promoted! He wouldn't be useless anymore! He casts his own cutting curse, his first in years. It was a just cast, one he shouldn't be charged for. Then he casts another stunning charm, followed with a few attack spells. The woman was behind and looked to be stabbing the lighter haired wizard, that combined with his spells may be distraction enough. This wizard may just day. Hope flashes. He could have his promotion! He would have finally done something right! ||

|| This was about to be over. He could see Chava moving to strike out at Lucedio, the auror using his own strikes, but he figured just in case Lucedio managed to block both of those, that he might as well throw in his own attacks. "Maybe, maybe not. But you stand outnumbered." He started using the mannerisms and tone he'd grown accustomed to at the Wizengamot, thinking that maybe the auror could arrest Lucedio if not kill him. If he made at least a proper showing, perhaps anything he did would be overlooked in case the auror did manage one of those, or even lived if he couldn't. "Just turn yourself in. You keep fighting and you won't live another day." He started to pick himself off of the ground, screaming out in pain as he did, though he managed to keep himself upright. With how many times he'd fought through pain, he could be dead and he'd probably still fight. He brought his wand from his pocket, before flicking a couple disarming and knockback curses, before firing a volley of cutting curses mixed in.

[L] || He could see he was outnumbered. He could see that he stood no feasible chance of winning, yet something kept making him believe he had a chance. That he could beat all of them. Perhaps it was ego. Maybe it was a sense of confidence from the outcome of the last fight. In any case, he was not going to just run away again. Not yet. Not unless there was absolutely nothing he could do. He flicks his wand attempting to send Chava flying, before getting hit in his side with the man's cutting curse, and a couple of Damien's own, before flicking up a shield to keep himself from getting hurt any worse. He flicked his wand at each of them several times, sending killing curse after killing curse. He wanted this to end, and he wanted it to end quickly. "I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU! NO MATTER WHO YOU BRING IN! YOU, THE CUNT, THE IDIOT, IT DOESN'T MATTER!"

|| Chava was tossed to the side, throw back against the wall with a grunt. She was dizzy, lightheaded, and losing too much blood. And there wasn't much of anything she could do to help herself or Damien. She was starting to feel physically sick, but she had to get away from the killing curses, when with no magic to counter. She whimpers, trying not to cry, dodging one of the curses that flew past her head. She curls into herself behind some of Damien's training dummies, trying not to throw up and trying to breathe. Was there anything she could say or do to get Lucedio to stop? Probably not, but she was desperate. "STOP!" she screams from behind where she was hiding. She was absolutely no use in a fight anymore. She was no help to Damien, just dragging him down further, most likely. "Don't... don't kill us please. Or wait. Just..." a small idea strikes her. Not that it would get her anywhere. "KILL AERON!” she cries frantically. Maybe, just maybe she could shift his anger to Aeron... she would be killing two birds with one stone. "He was hiding things from you, he knew I was pregnant months ago but he never told you, he lied, kill him, kill him..." She trails off, heaving slightly. Her vision was growing blurry, the room spinning slightly.

|| The Auror stepped closer and closer with his three spells. He had to get close enough to send a binding curse to the evil wizard, arresting him. The man could not risk the spell being blocked, or him having somehow hit one of the others with the spell. But as he grew closer, and the killing curses were thrown, he saw the predicament he was in. The woman was thrown back, and from what the man saw, she wasn't in the best shape. He lets out a yelp as he dodged one killing curse, finding himself closer to the woman. No, she wasn't in the best shape. His eyes flash to the Wizengamot official. He had to find a way to help him too. His body moves, sliding away from another curse. His breath hitches. He never trained his body for activity such as this. Again, he curses at himself. How pathetic could he be? "Okay," he mutters before acting quickly. He casts a spell, aiming it at the woman's hand. It bandaged it, but it didn't stop the bleeding. He hides behind the dummy with her, but slides his belt off to tie around his mid arm, stopping any possible bleeding to continue. "You'll be okay." He whispers, just before standing up, spinning out from behind the dummy, aiming to run towards the other man to help his bleeding chest. But he was hit with a blinding green light, causing his body to hitch, fly back against the wall, before falling back down onto the floor; eyes closed and mouth agape in a painful shock. At least he died in battle. ||

|| Things were going south fast. Lucedio was firing spells wildly with everyone ducking where they could, though Damien could only throw himself to the ground, grunting at the pain the action brought him. Lucedio was acting wild in anger, whatever plan his twin had falling to pieces. The auror had bandaged Chava up, and started moving towards Damien. He motioned for the auror to stay in cover, but by that point it was too late as the auror was hit by the green light of a killing curse. He had to stop this now, but how, he didn't know. Perhaps while Lucedio was distracted he could strike, or even cause another distraction to make sure Lucedio wasn't focusing on him? He had to do something. He flicked his wand, sending an explosion spell off towards Chava's side of Lucedio, though he made sure that It was nowhere near enough to hurt her, before casting several cutting curses, followed up by a blasting charm, hoping that the spells hit while his back was turned.

[L] || With the auror dead, and both Damien and Chava injured, his victory was assured. There was nothing either could do should he choose to kill the other. He would take his time with it, enjoy the kills. With a flick of a cutting curse at the auror's body, he remarks towards Damien without looking, "I told you I would kill him, and now I'll kill you." A noise off towards his right pulled him away from Damien, and towards Chava, who he expected cast a spell, before screaming out at several curses hitting his back. The pain seared, and he figured now was as good a time as any to leave. He might not be able to kill them personally, but their wounds certainly would. He took several steps into a corner of the basement, before melding into the shadows. He would be back later to make sure they were dead.

|| The Auror was dead, and Lucedio was gone. Both Damien and Chava were supposed to be dead, and it was by some miracle that they weren't. The only thing that even kept Chava conscious was the bandaging and tourniquet from the auror before he died. It had stopped her from losing too much blood but still, it hurt, and she was feeling sicker and sicker by the moment. The blood she already lost was enough to make her barely capable of walking. But Damien needed her help, he had no such bandages at the moment. "Shit," she swears, crawling over to Damien. She didn't know what to do. "Do you have any potions in here that can help you?" She frowns, habitually reaching her hand out for Damien before stopping. She'd end up with a fucking stump by the time it was healed. It was magically cursed off, and therefore couldn't be magically fixed. "Damien, I... I can't help you." And this was the truth. What could she possibly do with no hand, no magic, and a pregnancy that was making her sick? She felt on the verge of passing out herself. "I can't... my magic... I don't even know how to get you home..." She was almost convinced Lucedio would get exactly what he wanted right then and there. They would be stuck here and die of their own injuries, and he would be back for them if somehow they lived long enough. She couldn't even apparate, pregnant. And in this state she'd get splinched and die anyway. It was useless. "Dami, you..." A small idea struck her, but would he ever take it? "Dami, leave me here. You need to get medical attention, because I can't help you. A potion can only do so much. You /need/ to."

|| Damien wanted to argue, to say that she was more important, that she needed healing first, something, but he knew better than to waste his breath. That confringo had blown a hole in his torso, his guts might as well be on the floor. Chava could survive well enough. Her hand was at least bandaged and bound. He was still bleeding out. "Fine." he muttered, picking himself off the ground before moving over towards Chava, "But I'm getting you home first." Without waiting for her to argue, he tried to pick her up off the ground so he could better hobble with her out of the building and back home, "Don't even try to argue with me. I'll head to St Mungos when you're home. Not before." He tried to convey an attitude that said if she didn't allow him to take her home, he'd attempt it anyway, or just sit down and let himself bleed out. Either way, he walked towards the stairs, attempting to keep Chava in tow. It would be a long walk home, and a painful time apparating to St Mungos.

|| She so desperately wanted to argue against this, but she was lucky he had even agreed to go to St Mungos instead of dealing with things on his own, like they usually did. How was Damien even supposed to take her home? He was bleeding and it was a miracle he could stand, let alone even still be breathing. "Damien, you're hurting yourself further," she argues, furrowing her brows. Both of them were having a hard time walking as it was. "Damien, I..." But there was really no use. She knew he would do it regardless, and as long as he got to St Mungos afterwards, he would be fine, right? She'd take care of herself at home with plenty of rest and healing potions, and she make /sure/ he got a healing potion before he made his watch to St Mungos. She heaves a sigh, walking along with him, but making it so he could lean on her should he need to. "Fine," she gives in. "Just please don't die on me," she mumbles, gripping his arm around her uninjured one to keep the both of them steady. "Or else I'll never forgive you."
