[The End 1/13] Home
|| Seven months had come and passed, and still nothing had happened. With nearly every day, Damien went off to the ministry, did his job, then came back to spend time with his wife and kids. Aurora and Orianna especially took up most of his time, since Chava wasn't that good with kids. Damien wasn't either, but he was the best option between the two of them. If Chava wasn't a supposedly dead criminal, he'd be hiring someone to take care of them, but they had to be cautions on multiple fronts. Not only with Chava, but if someone happened to see what was in his basement, the Ministry would be on them in no time. Damien strode down the stairs towards the main room, before sitting and relaxing into his throne. He cast his eyes around the room, his grey eyes searching out for Chava
|| It seemed Chava was perpetually annoyed. She loved the twins, she did. They were adorable, and growing fast, and though they had Damien's eyes, the slight growth of their hair showed the resemblance to Chava. What she couldn't stand was the screaming, crying, waking up at night, feeding. It was all far too annoying most of the time, so she supposed she really was lucky to have Damien lately. He wasn't the greatest parent either, but as Chava was worse, he was naturally a gem. Chava having guessed both girls would finally be asleep, she strides downwards, heaving a heavy sigh. About a month ago brought the true discovery that herself and Damien just couldn't learn, and she had even more reason to be annoyed. True, this new pregnancy was a hell of a lot easier than the twins, but still. Mood swings were mood swings. And after a month of knowing, she figured it was finally time to tell Damien. There was no denying she was a little nervous. She moves behind him in his seat, curling her arms around his neck and shoulders. She didn't want to beat around the bush or take her time, so she didn't even greet him before blurting out, "Its a boy." Then realizing that came without context, "Oh! Oh, I'm pregnant. Again."
|| With the two arms wrapping around him, he tilts his head back, placing a hand atop of hers. At her blurting, he blinked a few times, before the context came about. He was confused a few seconds more before understanding clicked within his head. "Oh," He spoke, shaking his head slightly. Another one. This would certainly compound the problems they were already facing. Though on the bright side, he'd have an heir to carry on the Thorne name. "How long?" He quirked a brow, waiting for an answer. The question compacted multiple questions into two simple words. How long along was she? How long ago did she know? How long? If she knew before today, he might be disappointed she didn't tell him earlier, but it wasn't that big a deal. Not enough to bring up anyway.Or rather, if she knew for longer than a week. He could understand less than that, given how busy they'd been. "At least we have an heir." He smiled lightly, noting her nervousness.
|| Chava chews on her bottom lip, somehow made even more nervous by his singular question than by the announcement itself. With the twins, Chava had been in such a state of shock and pain that Damien knew the day of, the same day she did. But this heir, he was so much simpler. So far, almost too easy to carry. But then again, it was only one, and it had only been a short time. Short time over all, but quite a long time not to tell Damien. She hadn't wanted him to worry. She clears her throat, pulling her arms away from him to cross them over her chest, her one hand gripping at her skin gently. She keeps biting her lip, looking down at the floor as if in slight shame. "I've known for little over a month," she mumbles, looking sheepish. She really should have told him earlier, for their protection, so why didn't she? It probably didn't matter. But still, Chava tended to worry over things that didn't matter a great deal.
|| A sigh escapes his lips at her admission of knowing for quite some time. He wished she had told him earlier, instead of waiting until now, but there wasn't much he could do about it now, and it wasn't worth bringing up at all. He'd just have to be glad she told him before it became obvious. He pulled himself up out of the chair, before spinning around to face her. Pressing a kiss to her cheek, he smiles lightly, "We'll figure everything out. I'm sure we'll manage even with the twins and another one along the way." If there was one thing he was thankful for regarding the manor, it was that there were many bedrooms, and they were able to house everyone without a problem.
[L] || A long time was spent, healing planning, and making sure everything was perfect. After the last skirmish, Lucedio had prided himself in removing the bitch's hand, and majorly injuring his twin. He took advantage of the time Damien was in St Mungos, by pressing small assaults against the barriers of the Dagger Manor. He wasn't ready for the final stage against the manor but he wanted them to be truly afraid, to realize that nowhere was truly safe from him. That he could reach them wherever they hid. One of the last attempts against the wards had landed him with access into the manor, to his amusement, and he carefully chose this day to strike, when he knew both the cunt and his twin would be home. To completely divert their attention from his chosen entry location, he cast several explosion spells at the side of the house. The spells would hit the wards harmlessly, but they would make a lot of noise. Waiting a few seconds to make sure no one would be focused on where he would appear, he smirked to himself. Melding into the shadows, he moved along the various shadows, before moving into the house into where he guessed the living room would be. Without warning, he came out of the shadows, flicking several disarming and cutting spells at the two. "I hope you didn't forget about me."
|| It was an illusion. It had to have been. Chava had spent so much time pregnant and with little to no sleep that she was truly imagining the most terrible things that could happen. The noises made her flinch, but she shook them off, turning back to Damien. Even the spells that hit her and the appearance of Lucedio himself was deduced to be, in Chava's mind, a bad dream. She gasps, but then blinks faintly at Lucedio, a dazed look in her eyes, seemingly far off. She was suddenly nauseous. She turns back to Damien, falling forward and gripping at the front of his shirt with a small whimper. "I need sleep, I'm seeing things." Yet no matter how many times she pinched herself to wake up, the image of Lucedio wasn't going away. She begins to panic, as if thrashing out in her sleep, hiding her small form behind Damien, soon screaming. "HELP!" she screams, as if expecting Damien to wake her up from this nightmare. And the twins... the twins were upstairs... What if Lucedio...? "WAKE UP!" she screams at herself in a panic, her heart beat rushing. Maybe if she swiped at the form of Lucedio, that part of the dream would go away, dissolved into dust, right? She takes the chance, letting go of Damien to run straight at Lucedio, the only weapon on her being her fists.
|| The explosions hitting the side of the house set Damien on edge, and instantly his dagger was in his hand. Someone was attacking and he had a good idea who. He just hoped that he didn't get in too easily. He moved over towards the window to try and look out to see if he could see the attacker. After a few seconds of see nothing, he spun around, only for a disarming spell to knock the dagger out of his hands, and a cutting curse to slice into his right arm. His eyes locked onto the source of the spells, before cursing to himself. He had hoped this wouldn't but clearly he was wrong. Chava was freaking out thinking she was dreaming, but his focus was primarily on Lucedio. He moved his hand to grip Chava's before speaking out. "Lucedio." He mainly spoke for Chava's benefit to let her know that he was actually there, and that she wasn't seeing things. He'd need her help if they were to push Lucedio away. The only advantage he had intricate knowledge of the Manor, but that wasn't something he could use at the moment. His hand flicked into his sleeve, pulling out two knives, as they were the only other weapons on him. He didn't carry his secondary Dagger around in the house, as they had felt safe their, but he with this he would have to start. "Leave."
[L] || It was amusing how they thought they could hold him off, despite how easily it seemed he got into the Manor. Granted it took him quite some time to gain access, but with how he planned everything, he hoped it seemed effortless. His eyes flicked this way and that, first noting Damien's dagger flying away from his hand, then noting Chava's reaction. Instantly he targeted on her, seeing her for what she was, the weak link. Damien probably had another weapon or two on him, but with the cunt in the state she was, he could easily take her down and threaten her life to make Damien throw away any weapons he had. Then it would be easy to kill both of them. All that planning, and he could see a way to take them both out now. How pathetic they were now they were no longer safe anywhere. He flicked several cutting curses, with a few spells to send her flying in the mix, at Chava, before spinning around, and casting a few disarming spells to keep Damien distracted. "When I have the advantage? No. I /will/ kill you both."
|| Lucedio was here. He was really truly here, and Chava was absolutely terrified. Even in their own home, he was here. Even though the wards were supposed to protect against Lucedio, he had broken them. No where was safe. No where. Chava couldn't even protect her husband or her babies... Lucedio dodges as she runs, leaving her and Damien each on one side of him. His cutting curse slices across her cheek, and she whimpers, falling down to the floor. Why wasn't her brain working? Where was any power she had previously shown? No where was safe. No where no where no where. No where to go... Chava was reduced to something of a childlike state, rocking back and forth on her heels and whimpering, already trying not to cry. Her wand wasn't on her and it meant shit to her anyway without her dominant hand, or her original wand. She wasn't even good with a dagger. What the hell was she supposed to do? She was like a helpless child, trying so hard to be sane, trying her absolute hardest in the midst of a panic attack. "Go away go away go away," she whines, moving to throw whatever she could in Lucedio's direction. The twins, just keep him away from the twins. She would not allow him to touch her children nor her husband. "Don't... don't touch my family." She cries, standing up again to throw her fist into his face. She hoped to God it hit.
|| There wasn't much Damien could do. Lucedio was targeting Chava, and Chava was trying to punch Lucedio. He knew that wouldn't work out in Chava's favor, yet he couldn't help her since he had his own problems to deal with. One of the disarming spells his his left hand and one of the knives flew from his hand, before he could dive to the side. Gripping the second knife tightly, he scurried over trying to grab the dagger and knife off to the side, while simultaneously trying to avoid the other odd spells Lucedio cast in his direction. Quickly he paused, before flinging the knife at Lucedio, giving him the opportunity to snatch up his other weapons. "You may think you have the advantage, but that will quickly change." Especially if he and Chava started working together to take him down. Granted Chava didn't have a way to return spells at Lucedio, but perhaps they could figure something out. He rushed forward, before pressing the knife in Chava's hands, rather having her armed than unarmed. Without warning he turned and started attacking Lucedio.
[L] || They were broken. Beaten. No matter how much they thought they could win, the fact that he was even fighting there, in their home, was proof that he had already won. He had surprise on his side, and he would press that advantage. He snarls out at Chava's attempt at an attack, flicking his wand to try and send her flying back. "Augh!" A knife flew into his shoulder from the direction Damien had escaped to. In one smooth motion, he pulled the blade out of his flesh before tossing it to the side. "You'll pay for that." He flicked his wand, sending several cutting curses towards Damien's direction. His gaze changed back towards Chava, a plan quickly forming in his head. He wouldn't hold out too long this way, fighting on two fronts. He melded into shadows, before reappearing at the top of the staircase, using the railing as a sort of defense. They would have to funnel up the stairs, and he could hold them off that way. He flicked a couple more cutting curses at each of them before chuckling. "All of your pathetic family members will die when I rid myself of you. Even Aeron will fall, until I'm the last Thorne alive."
|| When Damien pressed a dagger into her hands, it was all she could do to hold so tightly to it her knuckles turned white. She had to fight Lucedio, she had to. There was no other choice, else they'd all die. Struggling to pick herself up, she slaps herself to try and pull herself together. She was more easily snapped into the moment, however, when Lucedio was suddenly standing at the top of the stairs. Close to the bedrooms... which was where the twins were. She prayed to god they wouldn't start to cry at the noises downstairs, but they probably already were. Would Lucedio hear them and target them? No. No, Chava wouldn't allow that. At least Damien could defend himself, but the twins had nothing. They were babies who didn't even know Lucedio was a harm to them. Chava screams at the top of her lungs and rushes after him up the staircase, dagger out, meaning to crawl up and stab it into his foot to keep him in place. After that, repeatedly up his leg. One had to hit, one had to hit. "You're... you're cruel," she whimpers to Lucedio, at his feet, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Just let us live, no harm done... don't be... don't be cruel..."
[L] | Lucedio was glad to see Damien distracted with his spells, though his focus quickly shifted towards the cunt charging towards him. Something had set her off more that she had been earlier, and it happened when he moved to the stairs. Something was clearly on the upper levels they didn't want him to find. And given that the bitch no longer seemed pregnant, he had a good idea what. A chuckle escapes his lips as he takes several steps back away from Chava's strikes, before aiming a kick at her. "Well, well, well." This was certainly a development, and he would take advantage of it. He wouldn't focus on killing the child now, but making it seem like he was would probably set her off more, which would probably make it easier to kill her. Moving to turn away from her, though keeping an eye on her all the same, he started moving down the hall, flicking his wand to open doors as he passed them.
|| Lucedio knew, and Chava's panic only got worse. She kept the dagger in her hand, bouncing back from his kick. But it only distracting her for a second before she was up and running after him once more. "NO!" she screams, tripping over herself as she runs, each time trying to stab the blade into his back, or whatever she could reach. The twins, he was going after her babies, not even a year old yet. And she could hear them crying now, screaming. There was too much noise around the house for them not to. "DON'T TOUCH THEM! THEY'RE JUST BABIES!" She lunges forward to grab at Lucedio's clothing, hoping to drag him down with her, just to keep him from opening any more doors, to keep him from finding them. She doesn't let go of him, her voice pleading. She needed Damien, he was much stronger than she was. "I'll do anything, anything you want, just don't touch them. Go away, leave them be, I'll do whatever you want."
|| While Damien was dealing with his own problems, he could hear Lucedio taunting Chava, and Chava screaming. It took him a few moments to deal with the spells that were sent his way, though he was hit with another cutting curse. With nary as much as a wince, he gripped up his dagger before moving towards the stairs to follow both of them. Was Lucedio after the twins. He couldn't allow that to happen. After all that Chava had suffered through for those children, he could allow Lucedio to take the twins away from them. He barreled up the stairs, following the screaming to see Chava tackling Lucedio to the ground. He grabbed another knife from his sleeve before flicking it at Lucedio, though making sure to avoid hitting Chava. "YOU'RE NOT TOUCHING THEM!" He practically snarled out.
[L] A dark laugh escapes his lips at her pleading, avoiding her strikes with relative ease. His plan was going exactly as expected. Both of them were afraid, and that was exactly what he wanted. Fear made them weaker. Fear made it easier to kill them. Fear made it far easier to find their weaknesses. The wailing of two children caught his attention and he barked out in laughter. Perhaps he would kill their brats, since they clearly couldn't stop him. He spun around, before flinging open the door the the source of the noise. He was about to step in when he felt the bitch collide into him, dragging him to the ground. He couldn't kill the brats from this position, nor was he in a great position, so he did the only thing that came to mind. He melded back into the shadows, moving along into the living room, before returning and casting several spells in the direction that he'd left from. It wasn't until that moment that he realized there was still a weight bearing on him, and he flicked his wand trying to knock Chava away.
|| At least she had Damien's help, and she had actually managed to make contact from Lucedio, keeping him from Orianna and Aurora safely. Her own life was one thing, but her children and husband's lives were another. She moves her fists to slam it into his face, when suddenly the strangest feeling overcame her, and there was nothing she could do about it. Lucedio was melding back into the shadows, his usual trick, but this time, with Chava latched onto him, she'd be coming along for the ride. It was terrifying, and disorienting, and she felt smaller somehow, the world spinning around her at a sickening pace. It was quick, it was slow, who knew? Nothing was making sense to her. It was dark, and yet somehow there was some light burning at her eyes, making her want to claw them out, but she couldn't risk letting go off Lucedio, lest she possibly be lost in this strange void forever. She almost wanted to throw up, and squeezes her eyes shut to try and escape the light and the strange shapes she had been starting to see in the distance. By the time they had come back to the world she knew, she was dizzy, everything blurry, and the one shove from Lucedio sent her toppling over completely, gripping her temples and trying not to wretch. She falls on her back, limbs outspread, the roof above her spinning. Snap out of it, she had to snap out of it. And the dagger... where was it? Was Damien around? The twins okay? "Dami...?" she mutters, coughing, pulling herself up to at least sit up. Lucedio was still fighting, so she still had to. But she just wanted to run.
|| One second they were there in front of him, his knife flying towards Lucedio's head, the next Lucedio had melded into shadow, dragging Chava along with him, his knife hitting the ground harmlessly. Instantly he spun around, figuring that his twin would probably be trying to get around behind him, and that Chava was just accidentally brought along. It was lucky he had spun around as he noticed out of the corner of his eye, Lucedio, with Chava in tow, popping out of the shadows in the living room, casting spells in his direction. He ducked down, narrowly avoiding the various spells. "Chava!" As soon as he saw Lucedio knock Chava away, he flung his dagger in Lucedio's direction.
[L] || Despite having used his ability multiple times, and being away of the risks involved, his ability still managed to surprise him. He hadn't intended to drag Chava along with him, and had he been able to control it, he would have left Chava in the void. It would have denied him the satisfaction of killing her, but it certainly would have been an easy way of dealing with her. It was just a shame that wasn't possible. He flicked his wand casting a spell to intercept the knife, before turning towards Chava. If he couldn't leave her in the void, he would use this to his advantage. He snarls audibly, before casting a barrage of cutting curses at her.
|| The question was, did Chava even have the energy to fight back? To get up and do anything? Not immediately she didn't. She heard Damien yell her name, and she wanted to reach out for him. She might have, had Lucedio not targeted her next. Multiple cutting curses, cutting deep into her arms, legs, face, everywhere, her blood splattering from the force, and all she could do was push herself backwards, crawling back by pushing her legs, inching herself further back into a corner. She was still crying, crazy, out of breath and now bleeding, but she had to fight. Perhaps if she convinced Lucedio she was giving up... She purposely backs herself into a corner, hoping Lucedio would simply follow her, blocking her pathway even more, still casting curses. The key was to make him think she was completely done for, that she wouldn't fight. Her eyes close halfway, giving her the appearance of someone blacking out, knocking unconscious. Her limbs still, she doesn't flinch, until she finds the right time. Until Lucedio might get close enough. And when and if he does, Chava's hand immediately snaps up, grabbing hold of one of the lamps nearby, and aiming to smash the glass right into Lucedio's face, without hesitation. Once over, her hand would reach for a fork, trying to sneak out from under Lucedio to move from her corner. Damien needed her to fight, and so she would.
|| His eyes scanned the room looking for various things he could press to his advantage, yet he came up empty. His daggers were scattered out of reach, and Lucedio was pressing on Chava. He needed something he could grab quickly and throw. His eyes finally settled on one of the daggers on display on the wall. He grimaced slightly at the thought of using one of his old daggers, yet it was the only option he had in this bind. He rushed forward, snatching the dagger up off of the display before charging towards Lucedio attempting to slam his shoulder into him, to shift Lucedio's focus on him instead. Regardless of whether he connected, he would bound backwards with his blade ready. They needed to divide his attention, make Lucedio fight on two fronts. That's how they would win this time.
[L] || One curse, two. Curse after curse hit Chava and Lucedio couldn't help but smirk. This was far too easy. He had expected a larger challenge, not that he was complaining. He flicks his wand sending another cutting curse in her direction, before taking a few steps forward. "Yes, surrender your life. Let yourself die!" He barked out in laughter as he watched the cunts eyes close. This was one down, one to go. He would finish her off later if she was still alive. He was about to turn his focus on Damien when he felt something slam into the side of his head. He staggered back in shock and pain before feeling Damien's shoulder slam into his side. He was /NOT/ losing! He sneered out, reaching out to grab at Damien's neck, before driving his wand into the man's left eye "DEFODIO!" He growled out before releasing his grasp. He laughed out again, knowing that with this he had won. He turned to Chava, shouting out, "I'VE WON! NOW DIE!!" he flicked his wand again, sending several explosion spells in her direction.
|| She had a fork in hand, ready to jab it until it pierced Lucedio's skin, but his next move made her stop dead. Damien had been moving to help her, until Lucedio... oh no. No. Lucedio was right. Painfully right. He had won. How could he have not, with the damage he had just done to Damien's eye? She was too busy screaming at this gruesome act to pay attention to what he was going to do to her next, and her scream only reaches a higher octave at the explosion spells, as if fire was licking her skin and peeling it off. Herself and Damien wouldn't even have to stress about taking care of another child if Lucedio %$!king /killed/ the baby hurting Chava. If she and Damien even made it out alive themselves, that is. Her skin was burning raw as she lunges at Lucedio again, fork in hand, ignoring the pain to aim the utensil right at Lucedio's own eye, snarling, "An eye for an eye." She moves to jab again, and again, before her body gives out, slipping down onto her knees before Lucedio, unsure if she had even made any contact. If Damien hadn't survived, if Damien wasn't going to make it, she was prepared to give her own life up to Lucedio, so she wouldn't have to bear being without him. If she was dead, she couldn't even feel guilty about leaving the twins. "Just $!#king kill me," she chokes on a sob, not looking around to see if Damien was alright or not. She assumed he was done for. "Just do it quickly."
|| One moment, it seemed as if they were winning. Chava had smashed a lamp into his head, and he had knocked Lucedio aside. Yet, in a small fraction of time, Lucedio had managed to recover. He could only watch as Lucedio grabbed him by the throat, before driving his wand into his eye. As if the pain from that wasn't enough, Lucedio had cast the gouging spell, which caused the rest of his eye to be gouged from his face. As soon as his neck was released, he collapsed to the ground, his hands gripping at his eye. He wasn't in any position to strike or do anything, The only thing he could do is lie there and hope that Chava drove him away.
[L] || His goal was achieved, yet the opportunity to kill them both was staring him in the face. The urge to end them right there persisted in his mind, yet he knew this wasn't the time. He wanted to kill them one at a time, and absolutely break them before then. That was the purpose of this "visit". To make sure they knew they wouldn't be safe anywhere. Not even in their own home. He flicked his wand towards Chava, sending a stream of water to stop the flames that consumed her. He'd lost himself in the fight, but now, he would make sure his plan stayed on course. He walked over to the woman, before grabbing her by the neck, using his thumb to make sure she was looking at him. "Know that I will kill you first. And when both of you are dead, I will kill your children. And there is /NOTHING/ you can do that will stop me. You are not safe anywhere." With that, he released his grip on her, and send another cutting curse at Damien before fading back into the shadows.
|| Lucedio wasn't going to kill them? Not now? When it could have been so easy for him to do it, he even helped Chava in some small way. But she wasn't stupid enough to think it was sympathy. No, he was waiting. Striking at them but abiding his time for the perfect moment. And when the moment came, it would be worse than anything they had ever encountered. This she knew, as he grabbed her throat and she stared up at him as he spoke. She would be the first to die. There was no where safe for her or Damien, or the kids. She would never sleep a wink again. He releases her, and she collapses once more to the ground, dragging her knees up to her chest. He was gone. He had left. They were safe for now, but Chava was still on the edge of a panic attack. She rocks herself back and forth, eyes wide and unseeing, whimpering under her breath as if she were a child. She couldn't even help Damien. She didn't know what to do. So wrapped up in this trauma was she that she didn't even reach out to Damien, just rocking back and forth, back and forth, her brain not working. Soon she would start muttering nonsense under her breath, slowly getting louder and louder, before repeating, "We're not safe not safe not safe nor safe..." And then later still, with a choking, raw sob, her voice painfully hoarse, "I don't want to die. Don't want to die I don't want to die don't want to die..." She felt as if any sudden movement would cause her to scream, she was so mentally fragile.
|| He wasn't sure how long he'd been lying there begging for the pain to stop. A few seconds? A minute? Half an hour? He wasn't sure. It felt infinite, just like the pain. How would he even manage. He doubted even magic would be able to get his eye back. It would forever serve as a reminder that he had failed to protect them. When the pain finally ceased, or rather when he was finally able to bear the pain, he pulled himself off the ground, one hand cupping the hole where his eye used to be. He made his way towards Chava before placing his other hand on her shoulder. "It's alright. He's gone. You're not going to die," he spoke softly, trying not to set her off. He couldn't even say anything about her ranting they weren't safe, as she was right. At best, he could hire someone to build up the wards again. At worst, the Dagger Manor would never be safe again. In the latter case, he would spend every galleon in his vault to move them, if need be. "Get some sleep. I'll watch over you and the kids." he added the last bit for her benefit, though he knew it would be safe to sleep now. If Lucedio had wanted to kill them now, he would have done so.
|| Her eyes were spent staring into nothingness, to the point where she didn't even see or hear Damien drag himself closer to her. No, she was stuck in her own little world straight up until he put his hand on her shoulder, setting her off instantly. In her mind it was Lucedio, and she screams, dragging herself away from his touch, before curling back into her ball and rocking back and forth once more. He was gone. He was gone, he said. Lucedio was gone. So they were safe, right? Wrong. Wrong, wrong. She flips her head up and stares at Damien with utter disbelief. "I'm not going to die? Did you /hear/ what I said?! I'm first, I'm first to die I'll die I'll die I'LL DIE!" Her words and voice crescendo until she was screaming the last two words. She was just able to calm herself down again somewhat when Damien suggested she sleep, and she stops him dead. "NO! I'm never sleeping again, not while he can get in here, never sleeping, never closing my eyes, always watching... you'll have to slip me a potion to MAKE me pass out before I sleep, I won't I won't ever close my eyes..." She trails off. Eyes. Damien's eye... She slips into a sudden dreamy state of being, reaching her hand out to brush gently against Damien's cheek, wiping away some of the blood from an eye that was no longer there. "Your eye..."
|| He couldn't deny that Chava was right in many regards. Lucedio did indeed say that Chava would die first, and with how easily it seemed he got inside, he had no doubt that Lucedio could keep his word. But that was only if they say by and did nothing. There were many things they could do. Rebuild the wards, move and put themselves under a fidelius, etc. Hell they could bring that creature along for the next time they fought Lucedio. There were still ways to protect themselves. "We'll kill him first. I'm not letting you die." He takes a seat next to her, and pulls her into his arms, hoping to calm her down. "We're safe. You'll need to sleep eventually." When she brings up his eye, and wipes away the blood that had pooled out of the empty socket, he winces slightly. Sure he had lost an eye. Sure the pain was insurmountable. Sure he would forever lose part of his peripheral and depth perception, but there were far more important things to think about. Hell in his... eye, she lost something far more important in the last fight. Her dominant hand. "I'll be fine."
