[The End 4/13] Exertions Pt. 2

[L] || From one Manor to another. One brother to another. It only served to add another reason to Lucedio's rage. While he was struggling for control, his two brothers got practically everything handed to them. Granted Damien grew up on the streets, but he was of the belief that it was nothing compared to being trapped, something he had far too much experience with it. He watched his younger brother's manor, waiting for the moment to strike. The man had proven to be completely useless, and had failed so completely with the tasks given to him. And once a tool had outlived it's usefulness it was disposed of. He sneered slightly, his red eyes narrowed at the door. The only thing that had gone as planned was the encounter with the fool and the cunt. He had managed to break into their precious manor, and even had the opportunity to kill them. It just wasn't time yet. They would die when he wanted them to die, and he wanted to utterly /break/ them first. The killing would come soon enough though. For now, he would just have to settle with killing Aeron. If he was even home.

|| Whispers were often untrustworthy. Hearing things on the grapevine was risky, especially when one tried so hard to be a silent entity, unseen and unknown. She'd followed the news, and it had led her down an interestingly familiar path. One littered with truths of old and rumours of events she'd hoped for once upon a time. She'd grown bored with old events and left for a while, only returning when she thought something interesting may be around a corner. Nearly silent, she approaches behind the figure of a man, a serene smile tugging on her lips, inhaling slowly and raising a hand, seeming to contemplate touching his shoulder to draw his attention. Though she seems to decide against it, and the hand moves through her hair rather than towards him, smoothing out the white locks and tilting her head. "Are the stories I've heard true, Lucedio?" Her voice was sharp, cutting through the silence despite the lack of volume, a rustle of feathers indicating the folding of wings as she stretches slightly, arching a brow, before crinkling her nose. "There's another one of you?"

|| It had been a while since the last battle, the one with Chava, Lucedio and Damien. Lucedio didn't trust him, that was evident in the way Aeron was trailed all the way to that carefully, handpicked, secluded area. Perfect for battling, if it had come to that, and it did. He had been wounded when he apparated then, and when he landed in front of his home, he discovered that he had been splinched. Not the most fun feeling - er, not feeling? A chunk of skin was missing from his right shoulder, closer to his upper pectoral muscle. It had hurt like /hell/ when the male tried nursing it, hissing and moaning in pain. But it was healed, wrapped, healthy, if not severely sore. It was something he could deal with. Aeron stayed in his home since, not daring to leave for fear that Lucedio would leap at him at the easiest and quickest possibility. He was not ready for the light to leave his body, he had more things he wanted to do. Things he could /prove/ to his family, that he wasn't totally useless. He could be useful, he just had to prove himself... ||

[L] | Lucedio was starting to get annoyed. No matter how long he watched this manor, nothing ever happened. The man never came out, nor did anyone go in. Perhaps he could knock on the door in a ruse of giving his younger brother one chance more. He almost laughed at it. Anyone who knew him would know he never gave second chances. He stood up, getting ready to move up towards the door, when a voice made him freeze in place. The sneer that had culminated on his lips slowly switched into a smirk, as he spoke without turning around. "So you're back?" He waved his hand, as if suggesting to follow. "Yes. This is his place. I'm going to kill him." He stated simply, striding up towards the porch. "Then I'm going to kill Damien and his cunt wife later."  he knocked on the door, his hand reaching into his pocket fingering his wand. As soon as he got inside, he'd strike. He had to press whatever advantage he had. "You can help me if you want, or watch. I can handle this easily."

Hannah heard the smirk in his voice, rather used to deciphering between his emotions. She lightly falls into step beside him, and chuckles. "Of course I am. Never have been one to stay away," she replies lowly with a lopsided shrug. "When I heard that you'd multiplied again I simply had to see if this one was as wonderful as you. Though I doubt it. And Damien remarried? Interesting," her gaze flickers over the manor and she flexes her fingers lightly, blue eyes flickering back to Lucedio, a fond smile tugging at her lips. "Shame for you though, I expect? If you're going to aim for her death, it sounds like she's solely on his side. You poor thing." A soft snort of amusement and a tilt of her head later, she was drumming her fingers lightly against her leg.  There was a third Thorne brother, and she could tell by the way Lucedio spoke that there'd be no love lost if - when - he died. She didn't doubt the intentions of Lucedio, nor the ... Okay,  small lie. She definitely doubted the skill level at the moment. But one couldn't really blame her! Last time she'd seen him he'd been about as threatening as a kitten that knew how to throw knives. That being... not very.

 || The knock on his door made him jump, luckily, the youngest male was already sitting. Although it did create a wince, pulling at his wound. Slowly, Aeron stands, his wand seeming to appear  in his hand. He twirls it in his hand, slowly creeping towards the door. Either his notifying ward didn't work, didn't set, or he just didn't notice. It was supposed to alert him but not notify the outsiders. It must not have set, that idea scared him. He stands behind the door, steeling himself, growing taller, his face growing harder. If it was Lucedio, he had to be ready. Or it was Chava, wanting to lure him out and kill him once and for all. It certainly wasn't a muggle, and the male wasn't needed by any magical. It had to have been someone he knew. With small reservation, he grips his wand tightly, his hand curling around the door knob. "Who is it." Aeron calls out, his voice sounding almost bored, if not curious. He would not look, would not chance anything, he had to be cautious. He did /not/ wish to die just yet. "State your business." Pretend it's a stranger, pretend to be clueless, maybe it would give him an edge. It would also still be playing the part many thought him to be: Useless and clueless. ||

|| His smirk grew larger as he got an answer from the man in the Manor. It was time to put his plan into motion, "I had very nearly killed Damien. He was good as dead, but she saved him." he mutters to Hannah quickly, before staring directly at the door. "Lucedio. You may have failed my last task, but I'm here to give you another chance." Of course this was a lie, a carefully constructed lie, but a lie nonetheless. He tilts his head towards Hannah before saying, "Oh and I have a friend here with me. She just happened to run into me." That wasn't a lie, but he had a feeling it would be doubted nonetheless. "Now are you going to let us in or step outside?"

Hannah hums in consideration of his words, scrunching up her nose and lightly brushing her fingers against his shoulder. "Why would one bother to save him? He is a lost cause. Not like you," she returned in the same low voice, before listening to his explanations and arching a brow lightly, almost snickering at his words, but well versed in the art of remaining impassive. She gives a soft sound of agreement before shifting slightly. "I apologise for the intrusion. It's just been so long since we caught up, and he invited me along..." Lies, spun like silk and dancing along her tongue like they'd been rehearsed, falling into sequence alongside Lucedio's words, fleshing out the story slightly, not enough to discredit his words, but enough to - hopefully allow her appearance less suspicion. She smiles faintly and tilts her head, waiting. She wouldn't lie and say she wasn't curious about this third Thorne brother. After all, she'd never heard of this one.

AeronThorne didn't believe him. His whole body hummed with the voice of betrayal. His brother was clearly not one for second chances, that was clear in every way he moved, every way he spoke. So why the hell did Aeron want to open the door for him? Honestly, he almost did until his brother mentioned an other, falling silent. Damien's company wasn't pleasant (although Aeron had only met Chava, that was enough company for one person), Lucedio's must be worse, had to be. Silence continued, his ears stretching at the soft lilt of a feminine tone. Not Chava, a total stranger. Lucedio invited her along, yet he said the female just ran into him... His stomach twisted, he didn't like this. He had to leave, some how. He was too afraid to apparate. He couldn't run, even though his body screamed to do so. The moment he was silent too long, the moment Lucedio sensed something was amiss, he would chase after Aeron. A groan almost escapes his throat, but his silence prevails. That is, until the door knob slowly turns, the door opening a crack, his wand hidden in shadows but ready to fling spells if he needed to. "We speak here, like this. I'm tired of the games, Lucedio." He utters, sounding bored again. His sea-grey eyes flash between his brother and her female companion, scanning them both over. His stomach twists again. He was a dead man. A piece of red hair falls, shading his eyes, his mind spinning like cogs on a wheel, creating plans and words. He brave his way through this surprise meeting. He lived this far after meeting his damaging brothers, he would live longer yet. ||

[L] || This wouldn't do. How would he be able to strike if the door wasn't even open. He could try and push his way through, but... He swore mentally before deciding to go with that. It was their best option as his younger brother clearly wouldn't let them in or come out. "Yet you're the one playing them." He chuckled lightly at how Hannah collaborated with the story smoothly following his plan. "But since you want to play games, I'll just come in." Without any warning, his wand was out of his pocket and pointed at the crack between the door, casting a knockback jinx at the man, before sending a confringo at the door itself. The manor probably wouldn't burn down. Probably. Either way, the result would end up being the same. If the knockback jinx missed he'd have to get away from the door anyway. If it hit, the confringo made a quick entrance. "Perhaps if you had simply let me in, we could have avoided this." Lies. He snarled lightly, poised ready to strike. His eyes narrow at the man before he starts speaking again, "I removed Chava of a hand, and Damien is most likely missing his eye. If both of them together couldn't stop me, what hope do you think you have to stand against me?"

|| Kind smile, cold eyes. She was just as closed as she was open, and the expression actually faltered at the Thorne's reaction to their presence. Arched brow, folded arms. She gazes into the crack of the door and a slow, drawn out sigh escapes. Stretched wings, small smirk. She observes the interaction, and watches Lucedio with increased attentiveness. It was a soft laugh that cancelled her silence, a chilling sound on the hybrid's lips, something that seemed out of place. "Considering everything, the siblings you have," she muses, gaze fixed on the third Thorne, a direct address as she watches him. "I'm so... underwhelmed." The airy tone cut short, sharp words paired with a snicker as her gaze returns to Lucedio before she sighs. Head canting to the side slightly, she couldn't help but release a soft chuckle. "Your brother is a coward, Lucedio...? It's a joke in the making... A coward, a madman and a liar walk into a bar." Lips curl into a smile that revealed a few too many teeth, emphasising the pointed canines. "Goodness, I can only imagine how fun this showdown shall be..."

<RAV> Fourthyearboy AeronThorne could almost seeth at being called a coward. He was safe, he knew what his family was capable of. He lived with the abuse longer than his brother's did, he molded to become the man his father wanted him to be. Then he met the twins and his life went to /shite./ Parents called him a traitor, they died, thanks to Damien's shite wife. Now he was hunted by both sides of his family. Damien was paying him, thanks to helping him save his wife, but it wasn't even /his/ money. Aeron's conniving brother stole his parent's will, rewrote it, and placed it back. Aeron had nothing to his name, just like Lucedio. Damien owned /everything./ This was the first time he felt and wanted ill for his brother, his family bond severing on all sides. He opens his perfectly sculpted mouth, sucking in air to reply to the woman before his hand twitched, instinctively shooting up a shield at the threat of the jinx, his body stumbling backwards at the confringo. At least /one/ ward worked, he thought, the spell having cracked, nearly shattering the door and the door frame, but his protective ward sucked the spell in, spreading it's affects across it's length, sending a shutter through the building. The youngest male stands tall, smirking slightly. It protected against spells, meant to send a shock to any ill intent visitors, but that was one bit Aeron wasn't sure he perfected. The wards had been rushed, not perfect. His magic weak thanks to his wound. But over the last few weeks it grew strong again, he just hadn't strengthened the wards. They could walk through safely, and then he'd be defenseless, save for his own devices. "I don't hope to stand against you, but you clearly have no other need for me." He points out, tilting his head, analyzing. "Have you finally come to dispose of me?" He continues, surprised by his own bravado. He turned his gaze to the female, once more studying her. Some mongrel, by the looks of it. Inhuman. Of course, just his brother's cup of tea. Fire coloured hair swishes as the man shakes his head. "I never turned my back on you, never betrayed you." Just never told you some information, Aeron silently adds. "I return your games, but I grow tired of them. You cut off her hand and destroyed his eye, both weakened. Chava is pregnant," or was, surely Lucedio knew. It's been too long since that ill fated night. "Her body growing weaker and weaker. Have you not killed them yet? Yet you come here, to do what? Kill me instead? Use me as I tried to use Chava? Teach me a lesson? Or is there some use to me, afterall?" He hums, finished. If he was to go out, he'd go out at his best. Or, a form of it. ||

[L] || So the wards here were far more formidable than he had expected. It mattered not. He placed his wand in his pocket, as if pretending he wasn't going to attack again. "They're all cowards. I can easily hunt them down, though." He chuckled lightly before, turning his gaze back towards his brother. "Maybe not, but you failed me. Three simple tasks and you failed all but one." He growls out ,before stepping up to the door glaring through the crack. "And I don't tolerate failures." He stepped back to stand next to Hannah, a plan formulating in his mind. "It might surprise you then that I had their lives in my grasp. I could have killed them easily. I was in their manor. Chava was down and unable to fight. And Damien's neck was in my hand." he chuckled lightly, a sadistic grin appearing on his face. "So why do they still live? Because I'm not /done/ with them yet. First I will /break/ them!" He barks out in laughter, before tilting his head. "Chava's nearly at her end, but Damien won't die so quickly. First he'll watch his precious wife die, then watch everything crumble around him. /THEN/ he'll die." He turned away from the manor, showing his back. Normally it would have been a stupid move, but for what he was planning, he needed Aeron to be less on edge, thinking he had the upper hand. "As for you?" He paused, chuckling slightly. "I'm going to remove this family tree of a Thorne." With that he reached out and grasped onto Hannah's shoulder, before melding them both into the shadows. It was a bit of a task, bringing someone along with him, but he had some practice with it. Within seconds they had shifted from their location, following the shadows and arriving inside the manor behind his younger brother. "And I will do it without you hiding behind a door." With no other warning, he pulled out his wand, before casting several cutting curses at the man.

|| The exchange was entertaining, she would admit. Though she didn't like the analytical gaze of the young one, and in response, her lip curls into a silent snarl, blue eyes flickering into a dark green, a silent threat behind them while she huffs a bit. Her gaze returns to Lucedio as she opts to ignore the third Thorne, and she hums softly. Despite the previous glowering she'd been doing, it seemed to melt away as she watches the older Thorne, murmuring something to herself in a language that wasn't easily identifiable, seemingly to herself as she makes a few notes of the situation and the relationship between the siblings. It was an interesting, if strange dynamic. Surveying gaze of a boy trying to gain an upper hand, sadistic grin of someone who knew his place on top. It was fun to watch. Her smile was soft as she watches Lucedio, though. Lucedio, with all his... well, some people might call it evilness, but she wasn't sure, really. He was well within his rights to want revenge, in her opinion. She tilts her head as she listens to them, before glancing back to Aeron and scrunching up her nose in distaste, comparing the two mentally, not that it mattered, of course. The outcome would be the same. Lucedio was her favourite to win. And hell, wherever it went, he would win. Of course he- what? During her internal monologue, she'd stopped paying too much attention. And then everything was... moving, squeezing, without air or warning, thank you very much Lucedio. She shudders when the feeling stops and blinks, glancing around and placing a hand on her head, and the other on Lucedio's shoulder. "Lucy... Sweetheart. If you ever do that to me again without warning. You'll be the next one to lose a body part. Most likely your damn head," she hisses lowly, shuddering and looking at Aeron, scrunching up her nose and tilting her head at him, before smiling slightly, the expression sarcastic, cold. "I'd tell you it's been lovely to meet you. Unfortunately the only lovely thing that's happened to me today is seeing Lucedio, and - thankfully - not getting stuck in the void with him... Oh gods, could you imagine being stuck in the void with him. I'm all for being stuck in small spaces with Lucy. But not that small." She huffs softly, before shifting and brushing a kiss against Lucedio's cheek. "Give him hell, sugarsnap," she smirks, before tilting her head and clasping her hands together, before blowing lightly, sending a sharp gust of wind in the younger sibling's direction, before spreading her wings and slinking over to the door. "Enjoy your... whatever's going on here. Lucedio, I'll see you... soon," she murmurs, words a promise as she smiles and departs, not one to stick around too long. And especially not after what Luce just did. Just in case he decided to tempt fate and do it again.

|| Just as he was ignored, he ignored the woman. Ignored her presence, cut out her voice - save for the pathetic and cringe worthy nicknames she called his brother - she was no longer existent to him. He was solely focused on his brother, focused on the curses sent his way. Wand up, shield active, bouncing away the curses. The only thing that distracted him was the gust of wind that shivered through the air, causing him to lose focus, his shield flickering, a curse or two digging into his skin. A hiss of air as the male conjures his shield once more, a gaze of malice sent towards the female as she departed. "I am not hiding!" The youngest brother growls, flicking his wrist as he sent a knockback jinx, along with an array of cutting curses of his own. He moved, ducking behind available furniture, blasting an elementary spell that, if true, would knock that wand out of his brother's hand. Then he could escape, to where ever he was able to go. He was tired of these wars, these battles, of the pain that came with them. "You hide behind the open embrace of Death, for what? Petty revenge? Make them suffer, do what you gleam happy, but if I never came to you, you never would have known I existed. You have an upper hand in this game thanks to me." Aeron hisses, conjuring his shield again. "I distracted them for you, I made them forget about you so you could /build,/ plan, deceive. You repay me in my own death? You are no avenger, Lucedio, you are as much as a coward as your friend claims me to be." The words spewed from his mouth, unwarranted. Unguided. But it was the truth he saw. "We are both trying to survive, brother. I do not bother  you, you claimed me as a pawn. I am taking back my own, claiming my rightful place. I will work /with/ you, if I must. But never intentionally against you." His sea green eyes flash sharply, gravely tired of the constant fighting. Avoiding the blood coating his shirt, dripping from his shoulder and arm, and the weakening he felt within himself. "To that I would dare Vow." ||

[L] | Lucedio ducked behind a chair at the barrage of spells, before stepping out, his wand aimed at the man, not quite casting yet. "Good. Then fight for your life." At the man's words, he tilted his head, scoffing slightly. He had an upper hand because of the younger man before him. Hardly. If anything his younger brother had only made the job harder for me. "Hardly petty."  He chuckles lightly shaking his head. This was utterly ridiculous. The man's views were so warped and distorted, that Lucedio wouldn't be surprised if Aeron was simply seeing things the way he /wanted/ to see them, rather than the way they were. "Unless you've been trapped in someone's mind for years on end with no release, then you understand nothing." He stepped closer towards the man, his wand still at the ready, though at this point he was being lenient. "You didn't give me an upper hand. You did quite the opposite. They were less wary of me before I gave you those tasks. Chava's hand? I had to work for that. And only that gave me an upper hand. Not anything you did." He shook his head snarling. His younger brother was clearly delusional. Now Lucedio wasn't unreasonable. He didn't hate Aeron as much as he hated Damien and the bitch. He just didn't tolerate failure. "I'll make you an offer though. You can accept and I will walk out of here. Otherwise I will continue to fight, and I will continue fighting until I see you dead." He walks over to the chair he had taken cover behind earlier before sitting down. "I will leave you be under two conditions. One: I never see you again. Two: You don't befriend Chava and Damien." He knew Aeron would most likely fail at one of those if he accepted the terms, so the only reason he was offering was so he could study the wards. They had been able to withstand his confringo, so he wanted to make sure next time he had the advantage. He knew he was stronger in a fight. He was more powerful magically, but fighting inside a warded home that he didn't know. That was a major disadvantage on his part. He had intended to kill his younger brother, and he still did. It was just a matter of when, now. Perhaps after he killed Damien and Chava. "And if you do choose that, a recommendation. You seem to hold this thought that you're better than us. Believe me you are not. Even against Damien you would likely lose. There's a reason this war has taken so long. And it is not because I was taking my time." he pulls himself out of the chair, as he knew that the choice would be made soon. Either he would fight now, or he would fight later. "So my recommendation is this. Don't get involved anymore. It's not your fight." With that he raised a brow, anticipating the man's choice with a sinister grin.

AeronThorne bit back from saying a lot. Neither understood the other, that was clear. Both had ideas, but none near the truth. Aeron /knew/ he was nothing short of less than his brothers, knew how worthless he was. He felt it deep into his core. It ate away at him. He wanted to be strong, he wanted to help. But this was never his battle to fight, he was never an object to win. Aeron Thorne was a wild card, straight from the void. Lucedio was not attacking, although, judging by his body language, he was ready to at any moment. The younger of the two releases his shield, listening to the offer. The... conditions. He was tempted to fight, knowing he would die at his brother's hands. It was a thought that didn't exactly scare him, and /that/ worried him. Aeron sucks in a deep breath, weighing his options, the smartest move. "I could not befriend /you,/ so what makes you think I could befriend them?" He was back where he started, unsure if he cared at this point. Perhaps the numbness was the acceptance that he would die, either today or another time. "Just remember you involved me. I just wanted to meet the mythical twins, one rumored to be dead and the other a sadistic murderer." Even now, Aeron did not know which was which. "You pawned me. I never wanted to be involved in the first place." He steps aside, waving his arm towards the shattered door, slashed further open my Lucedio's cutting curses. In that wave, a shudder passed through the home, the cracked ward lifting, allowing exit of an entity that was unwelcomed to enter should he have entered the mundane way. "I never wish to see any of you again myself. Including those you do not wish I befriend. Consider your conditions accepted." He paused, eyes flashing once more. "Now, if you would so kindly leave so we can get started on this conditions right away, that would be much appreciated." He lets loose an exasperated breath, wincing slightly. He would not hide if he saw Lucedio, but he would not go looking for him either. It may have been inevitable, that they may meet again, but he prayed against that. Aeron only wished their war to be over with, so he could live the peaceful life he wanted. He had been the kindest of the Thornes. With kindness came great weakness. He learned that today. ||
