[Suffering 1/2]Broken Rings
|| It might've been hours later when Chava woke up, finally, having not been able to sleep for very long. She was far too alert for that, and the feeling of someone around her made her bolt up in bed before she knew it. She almost thought last night was a dream... until she looked round and saw Damien right next to her, asleep. She stares at him for a moment, before gently pulling him away from her, if only so she wouldn't wake him, so he wouldn't be touching her. She couldn't stand him touching her then. Nor did she want to risk... giving in, to someone who had let her suffer in Azkaban for a somewhere near a month. Her heart falls in her chest as she stares at him, watching him sleep and breathe for a little while, trying to think as much as she could in this state. Sleep helped her a little, but the madness of wizard prison wouldn't leave her alone that easily. The crazy part of Chava wanted nothing to do with Damien anymore. She'd rather just die and no longer suffer as she had been. Could she get away with as such? Could she even walk? She stares at Damien longer, before finally moving closer to him, reaching a hand out to gently brush the hair away from his face. So much more peaceful like this, was he. This was the man she loved, after all, but also the man that betrayed her, left her to rot... Didn't even try to fight to keep her out of there. Chava felt the heartbreak, even if she was the one who was leaving, classified as the heartbreaker. But could she really do it? Could she so quickly walk away from this man after over a year and a half? She leans down as if to press a kiss to his forehead, before she pauses once more, moving away from him as if shocked. He was the one that hurt her. Wouldn't end her suffering, left her alone, powerless, after /begging/ him not to let her end up there... She liked to think she didn't owe this man anything. Reliving the scene where Chava was arrested, the growl returns, low in her throat, as the anger builds up once more. It was all she could do not to strike at the man. Carefully, again so as not to wake him, she pulls herself out of bed, feeling around in her pockets. There were some things she always kept on her, things deemed unimportant and unchecked by the ministry. The first thing were the stolen rings from the shop over a month ago. Useless to even her now. Once upon a time she had hoped for a marriage, but Damien was not one to oblige, which only furthered her evidence. Damien didn't love her enough to keep her from prison, didn't love her enough to even marry her. She clears the bedside table for Damien to see when he wakes up. First she sets both rings down, and a small flick of her wrist was all the magic she could produce to set a small fire to the metal of both pieces of jewellery, symbolic enough in that. He would understand the point she was getting across. She let the metal burn until it was charred and black, but still recognisable as rings, before turning her attention from them and setting about the house. Having stayed there most of the months they were together, Chava spent this next amount of time gathering any small belongings she had, packing them up to go. In return, to finalise it, she would give back his own, which started with his wand. He hadn't found it yet, hidden away in one of her old bags on a counter. Taking it in her hand, she heads back upstairs to return the wand as well, setting it next to the charred rings, a burnt out relationship. Pulling her cloak over her, her hood up, Chava shoves her hands in her pockets, before something else causes her to freeze in her tracks. Her fingers touch cool solid, something that she had entirely forgotten about until that moment. A gift, Damien had given Chava forever ago, as an apology... a gift that had once saved her from death by Lucedio's hand. He had trusted her with this gem, had made sure she would not lose it. But now... Chava had no use for such a thing. She would have no need to stay in contact with the man. A stony look on her face, the woman pulls the gem from her pocket, staring at it in wonder for a few moments, before shaking her head, setting it down next to his wand, and the rings. Perhaps... perhaps one last message. The one thing on Chava's mind was a way out, death would be preferable, nothing would hurt anymore. This wouldn't hurt anymore. If Damien thought Chava would stay alive once she had left... he really didn't know her all that well. She considering warning him, through a message, but it wasn't something she could very well risk. Nor did she need him getting in the way of her escape. He wanted her alive, he said, but Chava couldn't keep that going. Not at all. Furrowing her brows, she wipes the emotion off her face, not sparing Damien a second glance before she silently walks out of the room, hood up, polyjuice potion stored, and items returned at Damien's bedside. She closes each door gently behind her, and once outside the Dagger Manor, she disapparates. Not even to her own home, not right away, no. She'd be found too easily there too soon after the breakout. A glance back at the Dagger Manor before she goes. "Goodbye, Damien." ||
