[Pre-Hogwarts]Thorne Of The Past

|| It had been nearly two and a half weeks since the girl had discovered her father's identity. He was Damien Thorne, who lived in a place called Dagger Manor. The name pleased Clover greatly, finding it a wonderful title to place upon a home. The young girl had gone through hell and back on the lengthy trek to his residence, although it was nothing she couldn't handle with the help of her favorite weapon. She'd evaded the Muggle police on four separate occasions, as they kept trying to snatch her away and whisk her to the nearest orphanage or station. Obviously, she wouldn't allow that to happen, now that her mission was so far in its progress. The first three times, she could simply turn a corner or two and hide from them until they gave up on their search and left her alone. However, on the fourth time they tried to take her into custody, the policemen were a little bit smarter than the ones before. Clover fought them off for a while before leading them down a small, mostly unoccupied street. She appeared to surrender to the men, kneeling down with her hands behind her back. "Fine, fine, you can have me!" Clover said, producing a fake whimper. Little did they know her hands were already digging around in her rucksack until they found the cold metal they desired. The policemen came close, and her hand whipped out suddenly, her dagger stabbing them both in the heart. Blood dripped and spurted, landing on Clover. She ran out of there of fast as she could, leaving both men twitching in a pool of blood on the sidewalk. There it was - that same euphoria that came when she murdered Darcy Crownbury. It had been three years since her death, and Clover had to restrain herself from going on a killing frenzy to keep the high that she so loved. No, that wasn't her focus. Her focus was getting to the manor, and she was almost there; it was another three days before she finally arrived at her destination. The girl took a moment to stand in front of the manor, observing the place before walking up to the front entry. She was covered in old, dry blood, and her long blonde hair was an absolute mess. What a nice first impression that'll give, she thought. And with that, she raised her right hand to the door, giving it three hard knocks.

 || It had been half a year since Chava came home injured because she botched a killing spree. A full year since Chava had killed his parents. And just like what happened after that event, he found himself bored quite often. When he wasn't annoyed at Chava's whining. Sure, he loved Chava and all, but even he had his breaking points when she kept whining about her wand, especially despite the fact that he bought her a replacement. So most of the time, whenever she started whining, he tuned her out with whatever he'd been working on at the Ministry that day.Today, however had been something of a slow day. There were no Wizengamot meetings to attend, nor were there any people to meet. And of course, hearing that he wasn't going to be busy, Chava had wasted no time showing up. An hour had passed, two, and suddenly he heard a knock on the door. "This house has turned into a hotspot of activity suddenly" he muttered aloud, half speaking to Chava, and half to himself. He stands up, before walking over to the door, making sure his outfit was neat. It could be a Ministry Official asking him to come in after all. Owl's were filtered out, and sometimes the filter doesn't work the way they were supposed to. To his shock when he opened the door, instead of a ministry official, or his brother, or even anyone he recognized, there was a girl standing in front of his door. A quick glance over revealed the girl was covered in blood. A slight twitch of his lips, and he smirks sadistically. Where was this kid when he needed a protege? He would chalk this encounter to another potential victim. "What do you want?" He asked with a quirked brow. His posture was relaxed, however however his eyes were incredibly focused and watching every single move the girl made.

|| Never in her entire life did Chava imagine this would happen to her. Since her incident six months ago, she was in trouble. Her first walk out on the streets and she had spotted a paper to a post with her name on it, a rather old picture of her from just out of Hogwarts, and a reward. This experience was mind numbing, and her only comfort was that Damien's wards around his Manor were designed to keep the Ministry out. So as long as Damien kept the officials out of the Manor, she was safe. They didn't even get to know Damien and Chava had any relationship to the other, and it worked out perfectly. Her own house having already been searched, and thrown off Chava's trail by Aveline. And for that, Chava had a sort of gratitude for the girl. She supposed she could even bring her around more often, even bring her to Damien without intentions of harm. But what really hurt Chava was the fact that despite all this, she had next to no way to defend herself. She still didn't have her wand. Yes, she had gotten a new one, and she was more grateful for that than Damien knew, but there's was no denying that for the past six months, Chava's magic had been drastically weaker. It was much harder for her to cast even basic spells, and it took energy away from her with every high level spell cast. If the spell even hit its mark, or if it was strong enough, which it hadn't been. But her complaining on this matter resided much deep than just not being able to defend herself. Damien had previously depended on her magic. It helped him and her against Lucedio every previous encounter. He had admired her wand work, and now... She worried she wasn't helpful to him. Perhaps even next to useless, perhaps he didn't admire her anymore, or she'd be too much of a burden for him to want her. She shakes her head, sighing. Don't think about that. A knock on the door, and Chava nearly falls out of her chair. Every knock scared it lately, knowing it could be anyone, even someone from the Ministry, that could take her away with just one step inside the Manor; she always had to hide when there were knocks on the door. Wincing, she lets Damien answer it as she stood behind the wall, ready to inch upstairs if it was someone from the Ministry. But it sure didn't sound like it. Taking her dagger from her pocket, she peeks her head around the side of the wall, narrowing her eyes as if to get a better look. Was that... a little girl? Covered in blood? If the girl entered now she'd see Chava. What did she have to lose?

|| The girl's eyes widened a bit as the door swung open, and a man stood before her. She smirked incessantly at him, almost ignoring his blunt question. Clover tilted her head to look around the house, though there wasn't hardly anything inside. How charming. "You are Damien Thorne, I assume," she replied, her tone flat and almost uninterested. It was then that she noticed the woman hiding behind the barrier of a wall, a woman who looked vaguely familiar. She thought for a moment, then came to the conclusion that the lady was Chava Roku, whose face she'd seen multiple times on posters around the city. Though she was aware of her offenses, she wasn't bothered in the slightest by them. "I'm Clover. Clover Thorne." The girl stated, blue orbs trying to gauge his reaction at the same time. She wasn't sure if he was aware of their relation to one other, but if he wasn't, he would certainly know now. "You're my father. I've been looking for you." Clover didn't seem to have a hint of affection towards Damien; it was clear she was there for business.

|| Whoever this girl was, she was starting to irritate him slightly. The fact that she claimed to be his daughter had to be one of the most ridiculous claims he'd heard thus far. The only way he could see this girl being his daughter was if his first wife had a child, and even that was ridiculous since he'd only been married to her a year. "I am Damien Thorne. And if you know my name, you should know my time is valuable." Any other day and this might be true, but today he was free to do what he wanted, and he would spend that day with Chava. Hopefully without further needless interruption. It was at this point, he started slowly closing the door, showing that he didn't particularly believe her, "And thus, you shouldn't waste it. "Go play your little prank elsewhere."

Chava slowly makes her way out of her hiding place, making her way right next to Damien, touching his arm. Sure, the girl's claim of being his daughter was strange enough, but also possible, and the child was even covered in blood for Gods sake. But there wasn't much Chava was willing to do, nothing she wanted to do. She was still a child, and children always annoyed her more than most things. And if this particular child was Damien's daughter, that meant she was the product of his first wife- something Chava /really/ didn't want to think about, even made her angrier. Dagger at her side, she stares the girl down from Damien's side without saying a word.

|| An almost growl rumbled from the girl's throat. A /prank/? After all she'd done to find Damien, he thought she was playing a mere prank. It was complete disrespect in Clover's mind, and she narrowed her eyes, stopping the door from closing with her foot. How dare he? she thought, debating threatening her father. A quick decision was made that it wouldn't be the smartest thing to do, and she cleared her throat before speaking. "My mum's name is Pixie," She mentioned, hoping it would be enough to prove herself. "Does that ring a bell?" She spat out rudely, glaring at Chava once she appeared by Damien. The woman had a dagger, but so did she. Clover took it out of her back pocket, flashing it only slightly, as if to show she wasn't just a simple little harmless child. "I need your assistance. My time shouldn't be wasted either."

|| For a moment, Damien contemplated throwing her out, telling her to go back to her mother, that he didn't want any more people around. However she said and did the right things that quirked his curiosity. "I see." He pulled the door open, allowing the girl into his home. "Follow me." With that he waited, only to close the door behind the girl, and walked into the living taking a seat in his Throne of bones. Waiting for the girl, Clover, to get comfortable, or not, he turned his steel grey eyes on the girl, watching her carefully. Just to acknowledged that the girl was outmatched, he reached into his sleeve, pulling out one of his knives, throwing it into a far wall, directly under a displayed dagger. He wouldn't have the girl thinking she could get away with anything because she had a dagger. "Now, let's say you were my daughter. What assistance would you expect from me?" He didn't say anything about the girl's time being wasted otherwise he would have scoffed. His time was far more valuable than a little girls.

|| At the mention of Damien's first wife, Chava scowls, clenching her dagger in her hand. Yes, of course she was a product of Pixie. Chava couldn't help but get jealous at any mention of the woman, despite Damien's assurances. But Chava's mind races. If this girl was here, what if Pixie was around? What if she tried to steal Damien back from her. Chava growls again, very audibly, and there was absolutely no way she would allow that, ever. The woman would probably be dead before Damien even knew she was there. Deep breaths... deep breaths, she had to calm down. But still, this girl... She follows Damien in with her, but didn't sit down when he did. She stands behind the little girl, dagger in hand, just in case she tried anything.

Clover entered the house, observing all the decor there was - or perhaps lack thereof. She watched as Damien settled into one of three thrones and almost instantly threw a knife into a wall. Her eyes followed the weapon as it flew by, but she had no almost reaction to it and quickly returned her attention to Damien. She was unfazed by most things those days, or she had at least conditioned herself not to be. Clover decided not to sit, but rather stayed standing before him. "I need to track down Pixie." Clover stated, tucking her hands behind her back. "She abandoned me when I was four. Just disappeared one day. She never paid any attention to me anyhow," she explains, half muttering the latter bit. "I was hoping you might be able to help me find her, or perhaps give me a lead." The girl was fully aware of Chava's presence behind her, and turned for a moment to give her a quick glare. Clearly, the reunion was going splendidly.

| Damien chuckles slightly, shaking his head. While the girl was certainly entertaining in her lack of a response, he didn't particularly care about her sob story. "You saw her last" He spoke as if he was talking about an object you might find lying around the house, "You have a better chance of finding her than I do" With that he gives a shrug, drumming his finger against the armrest, slightly annoyed, "She disappeared on me a year into our marriage. So good luck with that." With that he waved his arm towards the door, as if dismissing the girl, "Unless you have something else to waste my time with?"

|| Chava, despite trying her absolute hardest to remain calm, couldn't help but release a small, short growl as the girl continued to speak. This was one of the reasons she never particularly enjoyed or liked children, was for their attitude. And this girl, what was her name? looked and seemed almost apathetic towards the threats against her, continuing on by her own means. And then there was the girl's reason for being here, which made Chava angrier. Track down Pixie...? Clover didn't specify exactly why she wanted to track down the woman nor what she wanted to do with her. Maybe she was like all those young children in the stereotypes that wanted to get her parents back together, Chava didn't know. Nonetheless, even thinking about it angered her. With another growl, the tip of Chava's dagger rests gently between the young girl's shoulder blades as she stands behind her, almost like a warning to her, should she want to continue. She didn't quite like this conversation. "Nor will Damien be wanting to track down your mother, I'm sure," she mutters with a possessive growl.

|| Clover turned abruptly as soon as she felt the dagger brush against her skin, her back now turned to Damien. He was turning out to be rather useless to her at this point. It was quite a disappointment, but perhaps he just didn't quite understand her goal well enough. Blue eyes glanced up to stare at Chava, who looked somewhat uncomfortable with the topic at hand. "I don't want to be returned to her," she began, pausing to look back at her father, making sure he was listening. "I want to find her, and I want to kill her. That's the objective, at the very least." Clover smirked a little at the idea. It was a dream that had occupied her every waking thought for the past four years, a dream that didn't seem so far off anymore.

|| Now this was quite the interesting child. Where once he wanted to throw her out, or even kill her, he now found his curiosity piqued. He raised a brow slightly at Chava, before giving a slight nod. While before, he missed his first wife greatly, after many years he found himself feeling distant whenever he thought of her, as if she was nothing more than a memory. He turns his gaze towards the girl, his finger's steepling, and his lips twisting into a crooked smile. "Now this is quite interesting." He stood up from his chair, before walking over to the far wall, plucking the thrown knife from it. "Tell me something, girl." He spun around, twirling the knife between his fingers. "When you sought to find me out, did you know anything about me?" He was betting that that answer was no, though he wouldn't be surprised if the answer was quite different. Either way, he held up a single finger, as if saying to wait, before disappearing down the stairs to the basement. Several minutes later he returned, yanking a chained man into the living room. "I doubt you did. Even if you seem to have inherited my... nature." He was willing to bet that this nature was the reason she was covered in blood in the first place. "But I want you to prove it. Prove that you have the fortitude to kill."

|| It was no secret that Chava absolutely adored Damien's violent nature. As strange as it seemed, when he came back up with one of his victims from the basement, she relaxes into herself and smiles gently, moving her dagger from the girl's back to slip over to Damien instead. Her smile curls into something more of a smirk at his words, but nonetheless an arm curls around one of his possessively. She figured if he was willing to give the girl a chance, she could as well, right? As hard as that would be for her. But if the girl could kill, and especially if she wanted to kill Pixie, giving the girl a shot would be so much easier. Her fears collapsed and fell apart at the girl's words and Damien's small nod, to be replaced now with a kind of blood-lust that she felt all too frequently now. It was a good thing Damien could pick up his own victims again, else Chava wouldn't have been able to help but sneak outside. She doesn't say a word, but simply watches with a malicious grin, gripping Damien's arm.

|| The girl shook her head at her father's inquiry. "No. I knew only of your name." She stated, watching him descend to the basement. It was true; she didn't know anything of the man besides his name and address, though it seemed they had a lot more in common than she could have ever imagined. Clover watched as he descended to the basement, staying planted in her spot. It was several minutes before he returned, though she remained patient. Clover's eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store as soon as a victim was brought to her. Prove it? She thought, a brilliant grin appearing on her face. Piece of cake. It was as if she started running on predatory instinct then; she walked up to the man, dagger clutched in her right hand. Clover yanked the man to his knees, eyeing him with a determined stare. She brought her blade to his cheek, running the metal down to his chin with firm pressure, blood beading and beginning to drip in its wake. Clover giggled, finding it incredibly amusing that it looked as if he was crying blood. Her head tilted and leaned forward to his ear, gripping her dagger tightly. "Bye." She whispered almost inaudibly. Her blade thrust forward suddenly and plunged into the man's heart in one swift motion, twisting in all directions before being removed. Clover watched the man drop before returning her gaze to Damien without another word being spoken.

|| Yes indeed, this child was certainly interesting. He didn't know many children with the fortitude to murder. "Then allow me to educate you. To the various underworlds I am Damien Thorne, killer and torturer extraordinaire. To the rest of the world, I am simply a pureblood with an interest in keeping our fine community running." he chuckles lightly at this, as he didn't really care about the community. The only thing he cared about was making sure he was left alone, and that no one but the appropriate parties knew of his... pastime. He turns his gaze towards her actions on the man he'd brought up. "You've killed before." he stated simply. The only way he figured she could kill with such proficiency, was if she had taken a life prior. "I hope you know you're treading a difficult path. When she does not wish to be found, she won't be. I should know, I trained her."

|| As the girl easily went to kill the man without even an ounce of regret, Chava felt her smile fading to a look more apathetic and unimpressed, despite the fact she was feeling rather the opposite. Although, she did disagree a little. Clover could have had so much more fun with the man while he was in her hands, but... that was Chava's preference at least. Damien seemed rather happy with the girl, his /daughter/, as he began to properly introduce himself. Should Chava do the same? If Damien was impressed he might keep her around for a while, and she might want to stay. The two would have to come into acquaintance she supposed, be comfortable with the other. After all, the girl had plans to kill Damien's ex wife. Which honestly probably should not have made Chava's palm twitch with a need to kill, but it wasn't like she could quite help it; she was jealous of a woman she had never met. It was because of this Chava offers Clover a small smile, tipping her head towards while still attaching herself to Damien. She clears her throat gently. "Chava Roku. Killer, yeah, but if the papers outside are any indication, I /kind of/ fucked up a little." Chava shrugs, as if trying to pull off her last disaster as a minor mishap. She purses her lips at Damien's last line about his ex, stiffening up straight rather noticeably, fingers again curling into his arm. "And your father's girlfriend, I might add," she coughs.

|| The young girl nodded as her father spoke. So they were quite alike, although Clover was a killer above anything else. She was too impatient to torture her victims for a long period of time; she'd rather just cut to the case instead of beating around the bush. "I know. I figured I might as well try. It takes however long it takes." Clover said, her focus shifting to Chava. So she /was/ the killer whose face was plastered outdoors. The girl figured the pair would get along well, considering they too seemed to have an affinity for murder. Clover decided to reintroduce herself as well, clearing her throat. "Clover Thorne. Though I've been going by Darcy Crownbury for years now," She explained, reaching into her rucksack and taking out a vial of bubbly golden liquid, swirling it around a bit. "My first kill. A lovely Muggle child, she was. I was five, she was nearly twelve at the time." Clover grinned, stuffing the potion back from whence it came. She was still clearly proud of her work, her eyes beaming with pride.

|| While the girl spoke, he moved over towards the corpse, picking it up, and tossing it over his shoulder. He didn't like to let a corpse go to waste, and while the heart was unfortunately no longer whole, it would still provide a bit of a treat later on down the line. "Very well. I see two paths for you to take now. You could walk out that door, and continue the hunt for your mother on your own. Or, you could stay and gain access to the information I could gather with my... friendship with the ministry." He didn't care which route the girl took. He was already caring for one kid, two wouldn't make too much of a difference. "But if you do stay, there will be house rules. For example, No bugging Chava, No going into the basement without permission. And if you go out and murder someone, /Don't get caught/."

|| A sigh escapes her, having figured by now the girl would be allowed to stay one way or another. She shifts from foot to foot as if slightly uncomfortable, as he offered to help her in her search for her mother. He did realize the girl wanted to kill Pixie, right? Nonetheless Chava finds herself curling her arms around Damien's torso, snarling slightly. "I don't want... her seeing you, if she's alive," she mutters, her face stony as she spoke more to Damien, though she didn't care what Clover heard her say at all. She'd regret causing any issues, so Damien's first house rule was well put in place. She found she couldn't much control her temper overall. His last rule made her stiffen again, but she only curls her arms tighter around the male, resting her head on him. "I did say I was sorry," she retorts, before tilting her head out towards the girl as if sharing a secret from her. "Although nearly getting caught /is/ pretty thrilling," she smirks.

|| There was no time wasted before Clover's answer was given. It was apparent that she hadn't taken even a second to think about her options. "I'll stay." She said, hands behind her back and properly folded together. Clover shrugged off Chava's first comment, not being bothered by it. The girl snickered to herself at Damien's last house rule, a light grin cracking through her blank stare. "Well, I haven't been caught yet." Clover blurted out, giggling at Chava. She didn't know the thrill of being nearly caught, but it intrigued her then more than ever. Perhaps she'd have to get in a teensy bit of trouble just to experience it, especially since she had her potions to disguise herself with. Clover found herself drifting away into her thoughts before she shook herself back into reality. She tilted her head a little, her gaze directed back at her father. "Is it just you two here?" Clo inquired, a curious shine twinkling in her eyes.

| A simple not was all that was given at the decision Clover had come to. Stay or no, it didn't really matter to him. He turns his gaze towards Chava before curling an arm around her, "Don't Worry. I doubt we'd have to worry about her returning." With that, he gave a bit of a sadistic smile, before turning towards the girl before him. "Be that as it may, I will not tolerate you getting yourself caught, and leading a trail back to me. I have worked hard at keeping my... hobbies secret." He raised an arm towards the stairs, before walking up them. He didn't particularly care if they followed him, but he wouldn't be showing Clover the bedrooms again, so it was in her best interests to follow. Not that he said that of course. Without bothering to check if she was behind him, he starts speaking. "No, my home houses one other, but I don't expect you'll see her often. The center room is mine, and the far room to the right is taken. there are other rooms around the corners if you wish to take those ones as well."

|| Of course the girl had decided to stay. Here was another child Chava would have to concern herself with. And this wasn't the kind of child she could push around on a whim anyway. Chava heaves a sigh, her worries not entirely put at rest by Damien's words. She still didn't like the idea of this woman possibly coming back into his life, lest Chava be pushed to the side. But, still... Chava had to trust Damien, so that she would. Ending with a little smirk, Chava goes to follow Damien up the stairs even if Clover hadn't. With a little smirk, she looks down and winks at the girl.
