[Rejoining 3/3]Made Whole

|| A week had passed, and Chava supposed she should have been better than ever. It had even been a relatively quiet week for her, which of course she spent mainly at the Dagger Manor. What more could she really reasonably ask for, right? Well, there was one thing. She had tried not to think about it too much so as not to cause anything issues or even arguments, but all the same she couldn't keep the idea off of her mind. She didn't even like looking at those rings she burnt, which she purposefully tried to avoid whenever possible, really wanting to just throw them out for good. What use had they, except to remind her of something that would never happen? Yes, yes, Damien had had bad experiences with marriage, she knew that. But he also had bad experiences with relationships in general, and having someone he cared about, and that hadn't stopped him with her. So what was really stopping him now? Chava had no clue, but she was getting anxious, very much so. In the Dagger Manor, she slips into a seat, twirling her wand between her fingers. She was slouching obviously, and one could say she even looked quite upset. Which she was, to be fair. At this point, she was rather hurt. Was there something wrong with her, for him not to want to marry her? Growling audibly, she rubs her temples. Something must've been wrong with her.
|| The past week Damien had spent working on something in regards to the gem, though he was also keeping an eye on something else at the same time. For the first part of the week he'd been working on something for the gem he'd given Chava a while ago. While nothing he could do would eliminate the chance of it being lost again, he wanted to minimize that as much as possible so for that first part of the week he'd been forging a ring that would hold the gem, something that could be snapped off. The later part of the week, he'd done quite a bit of window shopping, though not quite to the same extent as Chava a while ago. It took him a few days, but he'd ended up finding something suitable. Even if he had done this before, it never got any easier. Or maybe that was just nerves. Either way, he had absolutely no reason to doubt her answer, if the rings she had stolen, then burnt, were of any clue. He budged open the door to the manor, expecting her to be already there, and she was. He held the case behind his back, before stepping inside. His gaze turned towards her expression, before furrowing his brows, "You alright?"
|| Hearing the door open, Chava's head immediately snaps up, setting her wand to her side. Peering at Damien, she purses her lips, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. How to respond? Frankly, she was a little annoyed and upset. But dare she confront him about it now? "Fine," she murmurs in response, her arms crossing poutily over her chest. She heaves a sigh. The more he stood there, arms behind her back, the more upset she seemed to get. But more sad, than angry. For now at least. "I'm just tired," she responds, as if that were some excuse for seeming as frustrated as she was. "What's it matter to you?" she can't help but quip, before standing and turning her head away. She didn't quite want to see his reaction, nor did she want to let herself blow up, as she felt would happen. So, after standing, she moves to stalk out of the room, as if to move upstairs. She had to breathe a little.
|| After all of that, Damien wasn't sure if now was even the best time, but he figured that he'd kept waiting he probably wouldn't do anything, so by that, there was no better time. Either way, he wanted to know what was bothering her. He waited a minute to allow her to calm down a bit, before heading up the stairs after her. "Fine never means fine. Clearly something's bothering you." He was sorely tempted to lower his hand from behind his back, but he wouldn't do as much yet. At least not until after seeing what was eating away at her. He had a guess, but either way, guess didn't always translate into fact.

|| The minute she reaches the room, before Damien even followed her Chava proceeded to throw her fist into the wall with a growl of frustration. She tears her hand away upon his entrance, acting as if she hadn't done anything out of the ordinary. Well, there was no way to stop the frustration from coming out now, that was for sure. She had waited long enough. "Yes, fine, of goddamn course something is wrong." Gripping her hair in her hands, she sits down on the edge of the bed, shaking just slightly. Why did she always have to have a total meltdown whenever something was wrong with her? The question was gone from her lips before she could even think about it, sounding just as blunt as it was. "What is it you find wrong with me, that you really don't want to marry me?" And there was the issue, out in the open. The thought that he had had bad experiences with marriage only reminded her that he had previously been married, and that angered her all the more. "So you can propose and get married to your /first wife/ and even the other crazy bitch, but something's wrong with /me/ that you can't this time? Do I still not hold that same god damn flame as your first wife?" She was practically yelling at the end of it, and promptly hides her face in her hands. No, she wasn't good enough. Still not good enough to him to get married. She didn't think she ever would be.
|| Probably to the detriment of Chava, Damien couldn't help but laugh. The entire situation was funny in that way. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh. It's just." He pulled to box out from behind his back before tossing it to her. "I don't think you'd have to worry about it much longer." He moves over to the bed before sitting down. "Nothing's wrong with you, you shouldn't think that way of yourself." He then reached into his pocket remembering the other thing he had been working on, pulling out the newly made ring for the gem, before placing that on the bed as well. "And if you still want to, I finished my work on the gem."
|| When Damien laughed, Chava's first reaction was to get even angrier, pulling her head back up to look at him, snarling. Why laugh, when she had just done so much as spill her heart out to him? Did she really sound that ridiculous, or did he really just not care about what she was saying? She was about to ask him as much, when she stops dead as she opens her mouth. So stunned, and rather confused was she, that she nearly let the box now in her hands fall, but fumbled with it and caught it quickly. Did she dare think this was what it seemed like? He hadn't asked anything, so perhaps she shouldn't get her hopes up. Staring between the box, the gem with a ring, and Damien, she looks positively dumbfounded, at an utter loss for words. She sets the box down on the bed and points at him, finally able to speak again. "Wait... wait, /what/?! Backtrack, this is... you're... what?"
|| Damien couldn't help but grimace at the expression she had given off when he laughed, but he still hadn't been able to help it. He shook his head slightly at her before picking up the ring, and holding it up. "Well, this, is just so it's not so easy to lose." With that, he placed it back on the bed, picking up the box and tossing it back towards Chava. "While that. I'm sure you can figure out." With that, he mimicked the motion of opening it. Though with her apparent shock and confusion, he figured he would have to explain anyway. She'd apparently been hoping for some time that he'd do this, but had no reason to believe he would. Especially with his history. "I know, it's hardly a proper proposal, but then again, I'm hardly the proper type."
|| When he motions to, she opens the box, and she could swear she could've cried. No, it wasn't a proper proposal, but that was more than alright. It was perfect. She looks between it and Damien now, staring almost unblinkingly at him. She didn't say anything for a long while, as if completely unsure what to say. "Really? You're... you're serious?" she asks softly, as if wondering if this was some kind of joke. But he wouldn't do that to her, she knew as much as that. Moments after she speaks she finally moves, only to scramble closer to him and throw her arms around him in a tight hug. "What changed your mind?" she asks next, curling her arms around his neck. The day had gone from bad to best in only a few minutes, thanks to him. She wanted to find some way to repay him, but how? How could she show her own appreciation? She peppers his face in kisses, waiting for him to speak.
|| A slight grin worked its way into his expression before he nodded. He couldn't be any more serious. "One hundred and ten percent." He wraps his arms around her, his expression turning slightly sullen at her other question. How could he answer that? Chava always felt guilty even when there was no reason to be, but he'd hoped this would be a different case. "Well… losing you." He shook his head thinking it was better to not think of such things at a happy moment. "Here, let me put that on for you." he took up her left hand in his right, while removing the ring from the box with his right, before putting the ring on her finger. "That is, unless I jumped the gun and you're going to say no?" he raised a brow at this while smirking slightly.
|| Having made her way into his lap, Chava pulls back slightly, a guilty expression on her face when he mentions what exactly had made him change his mind. Yes, she had messed up, but she was also incredibly lucky to have still had him now. And so, she couldn't dwell on any feelings of guilt, especially now that he had made her so happy. She didn't even comment on his reason, simply holding out her hand for the ring, the smile instantly returning to her face. She can't help but laugh at his comment, giving him a look. "Yes, because I made that whole scene about being upset you wouldn't marry me just to say no when you finally do ask me," she teases him, before continuing to press kisses to his face. "God, you're sweet," she laughs, curling her arms around his neck once more. She couldn't help but already think ahead. When would this happen, and how? "What next?" she asks simply.
|| Damien rolls his eyes, while shaking his head. "Oh, hush. A man can dream, can't he?"He chuckled lightly, before pressing a kiss to her forehead. What was next? Certainly not anything big all things considered. "To be honest. I don't really know. I've never been a big planner." he tilted his head thinking on the matter a bit more, before speaking again. "Obviously there's the marriage, which I have no clue about. Then killing Lucedio, and if we're lucky living long happy lives."
|| Her grin remains at the kiss to her forehead, before she tugs on his chin and steals a kiss from his lips, as if in thanks, more than anything else. Settling comfortably up against him, she hums softly, thinking on this all herself. A grimace appears at the thought of planning. "Who needs to plan much? I'd hate anything big, or any ceremonies or dresses." She feigns a gag at the thought. None of that was really their style, nor was it exactly possible even if they wanted to. After all, to the wizarding world, Chava was supposed to be dead. And Ministry ally Damien marrying the supposedly dead murderer Chava would raise more than a few eyebrows. No, it would have to be something quick, quiet, and most definitely very illegal. But they were very used to doing illegal things. "Oh, I've got a few people I'd like to kill," she growls, thinking not only on Lucedio, but of Aeron, whom Chava still hadn't told Damien about. But what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him, right? "Anyway, what do we need? Paperwork, magic? Hell, we could do this thing ourselves anytime."

|| A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he gave a slight nod. "Glad you agree. When your life is as exciting as ours, a ceremony is quite boring." He raises a brow at her comment, "Anyone I know?" he chuckles lightly. He nodded again, before tilting his head. "Paperwork is easy enough with my 'alliance' with the ministry. Besides, who would we invite? Aeron? No thank you." he chuckles lightly to himself, while shaking his head.
